4 THE NEW JOB The doorbell rang as Jenny was getting ready for her first day of work. She opened the door, and it was Kenny with a dozen roses. “Happy first day on the job, beautiful lady.” “Thanks, Kenny.” He was so thoughtful, always knowing how to comfort her when stressed. When she arrived to work, Mr Wilson, her supervisor, met her in the lobby with a smile. The man seemed friendly, explaining that this first day comprised watching training videos and reading policy manuals. He led her to a conference room, where several other new employees sat, looking as lost as she felt. Jenny thought it always looked as if bosses didn’t want to train new employees, so they sat them in a room to watch videos or read training materials. She couldn’t understand why the supervisor couldn’t show
