What in God's name am I doing?” Anna muttered, staring at her reflection in her vanity mirror. Grabbing makeup wipes from the box on the table, she wiped the lipstick on her lips. It was bad enough she had styled her hair in a sleek low bun, applied mascara and lined her eyes. But she was for the love of Christ wearing a fitted black sheath dress with the tiniest slit at the side. Not to mention the low, chunky heel. She was cutting it real close. “Okay,” she exhaled. “Time to tone it down, Anna.” She removed the circle-loop earrings in her ears, replaced it with a stud. Then she pulled her hair into a sleek, high ponytail and instead of a lipstick, went with a clear lipgloss.
