ASH’S POV The second I got home and unlocked the front door, I was sure my mum wasn’t home, a sigh of relief immediately escaping my lips. I was exhausted and the last thing I needed was having a conversation with her or anyone else about why and where I spent the night. I rubbed my eyes as I made my way to my room, counting the stairs impatiently. I had a number of things to do with so little time in view. The previous night had gone by rather slowly, my eyes open more than half the time. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t sleep, thoughts of Cleo clouding my mind. If only I could be like her and easily sleep knowing very well we were only a couple of rooms away from each other.
