ASH’S POV After about thirty minutes of driving, we finally got to the bookstore. I took the lead and stepped out of my car, Cleo doing the same to walk behind me. Her gaze was fixed on the floor, her hands clenching onto her phone as she took slow steps towards me, prompting me to speak up. “Are you going to keep on walking behind me that slowly?” “What? No,” she quickened her steps towards me. “Sorry.” I smirked and resumed walking, glad our paces were finally in sync. Together, we got into store and I took the familiar route to the shelves I knew were going to house the books I needed.
