CHAPTER 24: CONFRONTING VENUS
MAXINE:
When I left Venus' room, I went to Conrad, and ordered him to check the footage from the surveillance cameras. He instantly went to the control room while I went back to my chambers to catch some sleep.
The injuries in my body have healed but I was still seething with anger over Draven's assault. I just wanted to check if there were any unusual movements from my pack or if someone had betrayed us.
I didn't get a notice from Conrad until the early hours of the morning.
“Alpha, there's something you might want to take a look at,” Conrad said through the mind link.
I got out of bed and headed downstairs. There were definitely two suspicious movements from two of my guards. But what got my attention more was the footage from Venus' room.
