I checked myself in the mirror while riding the elevator up to Alisha's floor where her office was. I wore a scarf over my head and a sunglasses huge enough to hide the dark circles under my eyes. I was barely able to make it here in one piece. It was a miracle the police didn't pull me over for wreckless driving because I abandoned all caution right after the ‘Come to my office’ text from Alisha. I felt the weird emotions behind that text by just reading those 8 words out to myself. Even right now as I checked reflection, I could see the words kind of floating in the air above my vision and it made me realize, my ego may have really caught up with me.
