Chapter 24

Nira The Island of Urahara Present Day     There was something about the general smell of beer and roasted pork permeating the air that ensured  I was going to like the Island of Urahara. At first sight the island didn’t look like much but that didn’t fool me. In my experience the most dangerous places always looked inoffensive to the innocent eye. The port was small compared to ones of Naccara and the ships stationed around the piers were small and old, patched and fixed about a thousand times judging by the plethora of colorful patches that adorned their white sails. And the people looked positively dangerous. I counted three men sporting black eye patches and about five others that were missing different body parts. Didoka and I had developed a game of sorts in which we hypothesized the different ways the ruffians from the closest ship stationed at our side had lost their limbs.     “That one,” I said, pointing discreetly to the captain of the ship, an old man with a wooden leg that reached his thigh. The man in question looked ruthless, with a weathered face covered in scars and two missing fingers in his left hand. I smiled and bumped my shoulder against Didoka’s, “I think his name is Loran and he lost his fingers after stealing an emerald ring from the Queen of the Island of Laikos.”     “What kind of name is Loran?” asked Didoka between laughs. I shrugged, resting my chin over my crossed arms and bracing myself to the balcony of the deck.     “It sounds villainous, don’t you think?”     “And how did he lose his leg then?” challenged me Didoka, his golden eyes sparkling in mischief under the morning sun while we played our game between hushes and whispers to not be heard by our neighbours.     “I think his lover...Matarina, cut his leg in an act of jealousy!” I made a cutting gesture with my hand, simulating a sword while playfully pinching Didoka’s side. He laughed so hard that even snorted like a pig, making me laugh too.     “Ohh...Matarina… you are killing me with those names!”     “That imagination of yours is going to be the death of mine,” interrupted a growly voice at my back, effectively sending shivers down my spine. My skin pebbled in anticipation and I felt my face burning in shock when Aros turned me around in his arms and stole me a kiss right there, in front of everyone. I followed him suit, marveling at how incredibly perfect his lips tasted against mine. His strong hands ran softly through my hair, petting me as if I was his most treasured person in the entire world. Aros broke our kiss and then caressed my cheek with a calloused thumb. His blue eyes brightened when he looked at me and reassured me, “And just for your information, the Queen of Laikos favours pearls over emeralds.”     Right! I’ve completely forgotten that the Queen of Laikos was the prince’s grandmother. I looked over at Didoka, who was doing his best to not openly laugh at my distress. I smacked my lips and lifted my eyebrows in chagrin, “Well, now you know. Loran is all about pearls and can’t stop himself from stealing them.”     “I feel bad about Loran’s nefarious reputation by now,” said Didoka with a shake of his head and then smiled at us, turning on his heels and waving a hand in goodbye, “I think I heard Kun calling for me. Nira, don’t forget to take me with you later.”     Aros’s frown marked his forehead while he watched Didoka walk down the ramp that connected with the pier. He turned slowly to me and focused his deep blue eyes on mine, “And where exactly do you think you are going?”     “To the market,” I said right away while his frown deepened with worry. I deliberately moved closer to Aros and smiled at him, knowing that he was somewhat less inclined to fight me when I showed him my dimples, “We agreed on not fighting outside of our bed Aros. And you can’t possibly pretend I stay in this ship after spending four weeks stranded in the sea. I want to drink, buy pretty things and have fun.”     Aros clenched his jaw and blinked slowly at me. Unimpressed, he clearly looked unimpressed. Damn, just when I thought the dimples really worked on him. Gently I caressed his chin, letting my breasts softly press against his abs. Yes, our height difference was almost laughable but at least Katala and Noctis looked exactly as unproportioned as we did. I was two heads lower than Aros but that didn’t seem to bother him at all when his eyelids hooded his eyes with lustful need.     “You are one caress away from being f****d against the wheel of the ship,” he growled in my ear, pushing my hips closer to his body so I could feel the bulk of his erection against my stomach. I couldn’t stop the smile that spreaded my lips at that lovely threat.     “You can have me wherever and however you want me, Mongrel,” I promised him with a gentle smile that had his nostrils flaring and his head shaking to the sides like a typical Alpha. I laughed at the menacing growl vibrating in his chest. By then I knew that however threatening Aros looked when he was aroused he wouldn’t ever harm me. He was fierce and wild but then again I liked him like that. And the things he did to me...yeah, I wouldn’t have it any other way. We clicked when we were in bed. As a matter of fact, we really, really understood each other in bed. Just thinking about it made me feel hot and ready. I pushed myself closer to Aros and pulled on the neck of his shirt until he lowered his head for me.     I kissed him hard, reminding him that if we had been alone right then I would have f****d him so good that he wouldn’t be able to stand on his legs. Which had actually happened, just this morning. I rode him so fast that he had been clenching his jaw from the very beginning to the very end of our mating. Aros had cursed a million times when I made him come before he could stop me. He had come in slow waves, shooting his come lazily and drunkenly, like a man that had never been f****d as good as I’ve f****d him. Afterwards he couldn’t even stand, a fact that he avenged by opening my legs and mounting me from behind until I howled his name in pleasure.      By the heated look that crossed his eyes I could tell he was also remembering all he had done to me this morning.     “Aros! Let’s move!” called Noctis from the ramp, walking with Katala resting at his back  while he gave her a piggy ride. Katala waved her hand at me and gave me a knowing smile before I smiled back at her. It felt good to be at the side of our Alphas. f**k, it felt too good actually. I couldn’t pinpoint the exact moment when I accepted the fact I liked to be Aros’s Omega but it made me happy to be at his side. To touch him, and look at him and feel his hands constantly reaching out for me.     “Listen,” commanded Aros, taking my chin between his fingers and tilting my head upwards so he could see my eyes. His cold tone had me dropping my smile and focusing on his words. Aros cupped the back of my head, moving his eyes back and forward while he inspected my face, “No drinking away from me, no betting and no stealing. If there is trouble coming for you then you let me deal with it. I’m serious Nira. This place is dangerous. If I could have my way I would have you chained to my bed and keep you there until we are out of this island.”     “Is that a promise for the times to come?” I asked him playfully and Aros growled, the joke seemingly lost in him.     “Promise me that you will come to me if you are in trouble,” he said with a stern look making me sigh.     “I promise I will come to you if I’m in trouble. Happy now?”     “Ecstatic,” he gave me a sarcastic smile and grabbed my hand in a firm grip, guiding me down the ship. The moment we touched land everyone seemed to be aware of the presence of Noctis, Aros and Kun. There were eyes following them everywhere and people were speaking in hushed tones while staring at them. Katala and I shared an inquisitive look while we followed our group through the general mayhem of the busy port. Exactly why everyone was so aware of the princes?      I looked up to Aros while scratching my head, “Umm Aros, is there a specific reason why everyone is looking at the three of you?”     “No specific reason,” he said right away, his face looking a little paler than before. He cleared his throat and gave me a tight smile, “No reason at all.”     “Are you sure?” asked Didoka by Kun’s side, while glancing nervously at the staring crowd, “They all seemed to recognize the three of you.”     Noctis widened the collar of his shirt while trying to ignore my cousin’s intense glare, “ Why don’t you three rest in the ship while we…”     Noctis was interrupted abruptly by the intrusion  of an armed group of men that was making their way to us. They were armed to their teeth and by the looks of it I was inclined to assume they were guarding the big boss of the island. There was always this unspoken bravado on the attitude surrounding the boss’s men. I knew this first hand since my father was the leader of the Dark Riders which translated to the boss of bosses back in Naccanash.      I knew right away who was the boss of the group. The man in question was an imposing Alpha around six feet tall, with leathered skin and sun bleached hair that looked almost white. If I thought Loran had looked villainous then he had nothing on this guy. There was a half moon scar across his left eye, which was entirely white and looked scary in contrast to his normal looking blue eye. He was wearing boots and leather pants...and nothing else. His entire torso was marked by scars and tattoos. In his mouth was a fat looking tobacco that he seemed to like chewing on and then spitting at the side of the main road.     The Alpha and his group moved closer and closer, making us stop when the man reached us and started talking with a snarl wrinkling his already wrinkled face.     “f**k no,” that was the first thing that came out of the boss’s mouth when he reached our group. Unceremoniously he brushed his pale hair away from his forehead and then took his tobacco in a hand before pointing it at Noctis, then Aros and Kun. His men surrounded us, growling and shaking their heads to the sides like Alphas did. This wasn’t looking any good. What the hell had happened in this Island for everyone to be so aware of the Alphas of our group? I followed the interchange closely, already dreading how the conversation would unfold, “I don’t want any businesses with the three of you. f**k no motherfuckers. Using my power as the Adjudicator of the Island of Urahara I call on my right of admission. Pack your things and get the hell away from here.”     Kun cleared his throat and opened his hands in a conciliatory gesture, “Now listen here, we can all get a decent agreement…”     “You,” interrupted the Adjudicator, pointing his tobacco back at Kun while his face turned redder, “have no right coming back here after accepting half of our female w***e’s services for free. Do you have any idea how much money I lost in one single night because of you and you...”he said turning to Aros next, “who f****d the other half of the island's female w***e population.”     Aros jumped to my side, covering my ears with his hands and growling enraged at the Adjudicator. I felt my eyes widen in surprise and hurt at the revelation. I’ve always known Aros liked to sleep around but...half of the female w***e population? How many women were we talking about? A couple, a dozen? I was too shocked to even fight him, which had to be a pretty good indicator of how shocked I was.     “If you don’t close your damn mouth right now I’m personally going to dismember you,” threatened Aros and the Adjudicator rolled his eyes before spitting on the road and turning to Noctis who followed Aros’s preventive strategy and covered Katala’s ears with his hands.     “Don’t speak any other word,” warned Noctis and the Adjudicator smirked.     “Or what? Are you going to kill me like you did to my best fighters after betting on yourself as the round’s winner? I thought Maccana soldiers were an honest bunch but after knowing the three of you I can safely say it’s all lies and bullshit,” he spat again and then focused his eyes on Katala, Didoka and me. His pale eyebrows arched in surprise and I realized he had just registered the fact we were in there. A smile tilted the corner of his mouth up, “Well, well, well, what do we have here? It has been a while since I’ve seen a true Omega and now I’m welcoming three of them into my island.”     “Check your vision with a healer, you stupid dog,” barked Kun with an angry tone, stepping in front of Didoka and signaling the monk with his thumb, “that’s a young boy and two Omegas and if you don’t want real trouble I advice you to look away from the three of them.”     “I see better with an eye than you with two of them,” rebuked the Adjudicator, making us all frown in confusion. What was he talking about? The man laughed at us but the joke had no pun. Especially not on me since I was still trying to come to terms with the fact Aros had f****d the other half of the island female w***e population. Didoka was the first one to react by walking around Kun-who was still glowering at the Adjudicator- and presenting him a leather bag full of the diamonds that Aros had created to pay for our fees.     “Here is the pass fee. We only need to stay at the island for half of a day to buy provisions for our trip. I give my word that the Maccana Alphas will be on their best behavior,” said Didoka with a conciliatory smile even if he was trying his damn best to avoid the sharp stare of the Adjudicator.     “Don’t make promises on my behalf, boy,” said Kun, still glaring at the Adjudicator.     “Me neither,” quipped Aros, who hasn’t stopped growling at the one-eyed man.     “Same here,” added Noctis, looking positively terrifying at the end of the group. The adjudicator smirked at all the threats, accepting the bag and opening fast to check it’s contents.     I decided right there that I, for a change, needed a break from the tense atmosphere to clear my head. So I turned to Katala, who had been already on her way to me and together we grabbed Didoka’s arms, pulling him away from the circle of smothering masculine tension surrounding us.     “And where the hell are you three are going?” growled Noctis at our back but neither of us turned around to give him the time of the day.     “To grab a drink!” I yelled at them over my shoulder, ignoring Aros’s loud growl of irritation.     “And bet on dangerous fights and check on those whores you all seem to like so much!” screamed Katala angrily and Noctis groaned somewhere at our backs.     “I didn’t even touch them!” He defended himself.     “Because there wasn’t any left for you to touch!” answered Katala even angrier.     “That’s all in the past!” yelled Aros for me to hear him over the loud sounds of the streets, making me snort and shake my head when Kun smacked Aros’s chest and turned to him.     “Speak for yourself, man. I’m the only single Alpha of our group and I was planning on making some real damage now that you are out of the game,” said Kun and Didoka frowned by my side, his face wrinkled in disgust like Katala and I. I guessed that since he was a young boy he was also appalled by Kun’s behavior. Up until then Didoka had always looked up to Kun as if he was his personal hero but he seemed...despondent now that he had seen Kun’s womanizer side.     “I need some beer,” I informed them while we distanced ourselves from the piers and put some much needed space between us and those stupid Alphas.     “Me too,” admitted Katala and Didoka nodded by her other side.     “Let’s do this,” he said and together we made our way into the Island of Urahara.
