LOS ANGELES, NOVEMBER 2023
CRYSTAL'S POV
I walked along the corridors of my department, feeling dog tired.
First year in college is always so hard.
However, I'm glad the first year is almost up.
I heard people booing and laughing as they gathered in front of our departmental cafeteria.
I frowned and went to take a look.
"Lick my shoes and apologize, otherwise I will knock out all your teeth and roast your meat on a spike" an arrogant voice declared, making me frown.
I thought bullying ended in highschool, but there were even worse bullies at college, especially those filthy rich billionaire and mafia kids.
I came to this school on a scholarship, otherwise we would not have been able to afford the fees.
This is a school where arrogant, rich kids gather.
The mockery and boos made me feel very angry, pushing me to the front.
I saw a boy lying down on the floor while an expensive pair of shoes lay on his back, stepping on various parts of his back.
The memory of my night of humiliation flashed before my mind and I angrily kicked away the legs on the poor boy's body.
Even in the human world, puny, weak humans still prey on people they think they're stronger than.
The legs landed on the floor with immense agility, not falling face-first as I intended.
"Lick your shoes? Who the hell do you think you are to bully people like that, you little piece of s**t?" I roared, pulling up the boy and simultaneously turning to face his assailant.
I immediately gasped and my words got caught in my throat.
I was staring into the most handsome face I have ever seen and it was blazing with anger.
He was dressed in an expensive designer suit, instead of departmental clothes.
He's not a college student.
He's doing his master's degree!
The enigmatic, genius, young billionaire CEO, Ethan Romano.
His pictures were littered all over the school, but this was the first time I was meeting him physically.
Damn!
He's going to cut off my scholarship!
The murmurings from the crowd immediately let me know that I seemed to have made a mistake.
"How dare you butt in? Do you know what he did? Or do you want to share his fate, stupid little nuisance?" He roared furiously.
"I don't know what he did but no one deserves to be humiliated in that manner. You're not God. Hell! I will still punch God's face if I see him bullying people!" I spat and ran away as fast as I could, dragging the boy I saved with me.
I was almost afraid he would order people to block me, but he didn't.
I felt uneasy, he's probably planning another revenge.
"Thanks for saving me. But next time, don't act rashly" the timid boy whispered.
I nodded and ran away, my heart pounding in alarm.
I can't believe I attacked Ethan Romano.
His foundation gave me my scholarship.
If he decides to terminate it, my future will be ruined.

ETHAN ROMANO'S POV
I adjusted my hoodie and grabbed my backpack, leaving the library.
This is my favorite dressing pattern when I'm trying to hide from people.
It's already 10p.m.
I hated going home on time, with all the s**t going on.
My nominal mom always camps in front of my penthouse suite, waiting to take me to the villa each day.
So I wait till late at night to ensure she gives up.
I entered the lonely street leading to the students lodge and noticed men with guns and daggers, surrounding two boys on the floor.
I rolled my eyes and pretended not to see it.
The triads, mafia and cultists operate on full scale in these areas and it's none of my business.
I don't care who gets killed as long as I'm not bothered.
I'm not a nosy good guy.
Hell, human lives mean nothing to me.
I don't care about anyone except myself.
However, passing quietly didn't seem to work out, as some of the men left their target, surrounding me.
"Hey bro, don't you know this area is restricted?. You only have yourself to blame for your untimely death" one said, making me smile.
Do they think I'm an ant to be easily crushed?
"This is the shortest route to my car. I didn't see anything bro. I will just continue on my way then" I said, taking a step forward.
However, they rushed towards me with a vicious glint in their eyes.
I hissed and threw off my bag.
Damn!
So I still have to kill tonight?
I looked at the battered people on the floor.
"Lucky you, thanks to their stupidity, you will be saved" I whispered, catching the first assailant by the neck and applying pressure on it, snapping his neck off.
I dodged the dagger aiming for my throat, while slashing the throat of my assailant with my sharp nails, protruding from my leather gloves.
I hurriedly grabbed a dagger and threw it to the fool aiming a gun at my head.
I immediately jumped over the flower hedges, and a bullet whizzed past my initial position.
I rolled on the floor and another one went over my shoulders.
I smiled and curled myself into a ball, hitting one of them with my body, like a projectile.
Soon they all lay dead around me.
I turned and noticed that the two unlucky souls that were being attacked had made a run for it by taking advantage of the chaos.
The hairs on my body immediately stood on edge, making me duck in reflex.
A bullet whizzed past me.
I immediately looked around, and noticed ten men dressed in black walking towards me.
They had me surrounded and they stealthily walked forward, their hands on the triggers.
I didn't need to look twice to know they were real threats with lots of killing experience.
The killing intent and aura of blood around them was thick, I could feel it.
Damn!
What kind of bad luck is this?
