Kaya and Kai have maintained their distance from me in the past few days. I don't understand if it's something that I spoke about or did. But Kai is permanently busing herself with academy assignments, and Kaya with pack work. I'm consistently isolated.
Kaya desired us all to sleep on the same mattress so we did. Though they arrive when I sleep and get up when I awake. It causes me to feel awful.
I desire to be valued and tended for. I desire to fall asleep in their arms and awaken up to them driving their fingers through my hair. I don't eat, I don't drink, and I barely feed. I'm exhausted. I'm tired of being neglected. I'm tired of not being noticed. I requested from Kaya a few days back to have my own chamber.
She agreed and waved me off. And so we don't witness each other. Luna, Kaya's mother, speaks to me from time to time. One time a week she would force-feed me a bag of blood and chat with me regarding Kaya's history. I would have adored listening to these tales from Kaya herself, but sadly, that's not the story. I sit up on my bed and put on my boots. I take the extra bag of blood
Luna left here and walk out of the house. I stroll through the lanes I've memorized by now from the number of times I trek through them. I walk to the western exit of the territory. It's the quickest one to the woods. I dodge everyone and maintain my head up. I have my headphones on and I blast I've no more f***s to give - Thomas Benjamin. It suits my attitude flawlessly. I sigh when I reach the exit, the patrols already know me. I consistently remind them not to inform Kaya, not that she'll care.
"Don't tell Kaya," I say and one of the wolves offers me a wolfy chuckle. and nod its large wolf-head. I step past them and into the un-claimed territory of the woods. I hike for 5 or so minutes and find my tree, it's large and lengthy. (Like Kaya's di- sorry) I begin to climb it and sit on one of the top branches. I worship it up here, no mate to drive me miserable, no people to converse with me, no work to do, no phone to ring out of nowhere. Kai is at the academy doing goddess knows what, Kaya is at her stupid office working. I gamble that without me they cuddle and chatter and function like genuine mates. Do they not accept me because I'm a vampire? Or do they not accept me for me?
Without acknowledging it, I begin crying. I drag my legs to my chest and cry my heart out. I have been in this pack for three months, and not one time did I get named as a mate. Not on time did we chat regarding our lives. The first month that this has been going on I expressed my displeasure and how they were causing me to feel was bearing a massive toll on my mental health, and they apologized. But here we are again. Even more flawed than when we began. I slowly start to sip on my blood bag and when I'm halfway through it, a fairy arrives and sits next to me on the branch. "Oh, my darling! You look terrible! Is everything ok?"
She questions. Her manner is tending and valuing and it causes me to sob even harder. "M-m-my mates h-hate me!" I cry out to this total stranger. She shuffles nearer me and embraces me to her chest. "Oh, my child... Don't fear, time will do its charm." She states. "I-i-i-it's been t-t-three months." I weep into her grasp. She just holds me and soothes me. and soothes me. "I promise it'll be ok, my child." She expresses and I feel a wave of exhaustion wash over me, I gradually shut my eyes and let the dark take over.
