Justine had gone out and I was glad. I didn"t want her to catch on to what we were planning just yet; she"d worry too much. Anne sat tentatively in a side chair. She was looking between Billy and me, waiting for one of us to start. I finally did. I regaled her with the details of my conversation with my dad, and then asked, “Anne, you were there with her, right?
