“Hi, Cad,” Marie greeted with a wink, leaning seductively against the doorframe.
Before she could attract any more attention, he grabbed her wrist and pulled her inside, slamming the door shut behind her.
"What are you doing here? Did Amelia see you?” His voice was a harsh whisper.
Marie laughed softly, dismissing his concern with a wave of her hand. “Relax, Cad. She didn't see me. I watched her leave before I even came to the door.” She stepped closer, trailing a finger down his chest. “You look tense.”
He swatted her hand away. “How did you even get my address?”
She gave a sly grin. “Oh, come on, Cadell. You think I don’t have my ways?” She giggled, a playful sparkle in her eyes. “You’d be surprised what a little charm and curiosity can uncover.”
