Hope knew better than to try and contact James.  Her father wouldn't bat an eyelash in recking his business, hurting little Jala, or worse, sending more of his men for round two.  So Hope ignored his calls and texts, she fought the urge to text him back, but it hurt her every time. She was denying herself the one thing she wanted. The man she loved. And it was all her father's fault. Carter Michaelson had ruined everything.  On a day, like so many other days, Hope ignored her parents arguing with her headphones in and a bottle of vodka in her lap.
