Another typical workday unfolded for Mr. Park, much like any other day. Absent from work the previous day for undisclosed personal reasons, Mr. Park entrusted Sophia, his new assistant, with the task of printing some important documents. As she made her way to meet Mr. Lee, the papers in her arms slipped, some falling to the floor while others finding their way into Mr. Park's office through the slightly ajar door. In her effort to retrieve the fallen papers, Sophia heard a stern voice emanating from within the office. Startled, she turned to face the source of the voice, and to her surprise, it was Mr. Park himself, the CEO. Sophia's heart skipped a beat as she laid eyes on him, captivated by his charismatic presence. Standing tall and exuding confidence, he possessed an undeniable air of elegance and power. His jet-black hair was impeccably styled, framing a face adorned with sharp, well-defined features. His eyes, deep and enigmatic, hinted at both coldness and intelligence. Dressed in a tailored suit that accentuated his lean physique, every movement he made exuded grace and poise. His meticulous attention to detail and penchant for sophistication was evident in the crisp lines of his attire. With an aura of confidence, he approached Sophia, exuding a certain grace befitting his status as a powerful leader. His presence was both captivating and intimidating, leaving Sophia intrigued and somewhat spellbound. His voice, smooth and velvety, possessed a restrained accent that only added to his allure. "Excuse me, lady. Can't you hear me, or are you deaf?" Mr. Park questioned sharply, snapping Sophia back to reality. "What were you doing trying to enter my office?" Startled by his stern tone, Sophia quickly responded, "Sorry, sir. I was trying to retrieve the paper that fell from my arms and slipped into your office." Mr. Park instructed her to retrieve the paper, and as she entered his office, Sophia couldn't help but admire the well-organized and meticulously designed space. She picked up the scattered papers, grateful for the opportunity to be in such close proximity to the CEO. "Thank you, sir," Sophia expressed with gratitude as she turned to leave. However, Mr. Park stopped her in her tracks with a question. "Excuse me, who are you? I have never seen you here before." Just as Sophia began to respond, Mr. Lee entered the room, catching both Mr. Park and Sophia's attention. With a questioning look on his face, Mr. Park motioned for Mr. Lee to explain the presence of the woman before him. "Oh, I hope you have met Miss Quinn. She is your new assistant," Mr. Lee introduced, surprising Mr. Park with this revelation. "Hello, sir. My name is Sophia Quinn, and I am your new assistant. I assure you, I will work diligently alongside you to make your life easier," Sophia introduced herself confidently. Mr. Park's voice turned cold and mean as he remarked, "You have already made it difficult for me by barging into my office without permission." Sophia quickly assured him, "That will not repeat itself, sir." With a dismissive tone, Mr. Park simply stated, "You may go," as Sophia bowed respectfully, a gesture she had witnessed in Korean movies, before leaving the room. Mr. Park couldn't help but chuckle at her gesture, intrigued by her cultural understanding. Curious about the unfamiliar custom, Mr. Park asked Mr. Lee, "Who taught her that?" Mr. Lee shrugged and replied, "I'm not sure. Maybe she has seen many people doing it in Korea; it is part of their culture." "Intriguing. It's the first time I've seen a foreigner bow before leaving," Mr. Park remarked with a hint of curiosity. The two men entered Mr. Park's office, ready to continue their discussion. "I wasn't expecting you to hire a foreigner as my new assistant," Mr. Park expressed, still slightly taken aback by the news. "Oh, she is from America, and she is incredibly fluent in English, Spanish, and Korean," Mr. Lee explained, attempting to reassure Mr. Park. "After all, you mentioned wanting someone different, Ji-Ae." Ji-Ae, Mr. Park's former assistant, had been efficient in her job but struggled to separate her personal feelings from work. She harbored romantic feelings for Mr. Park, but he had never entertained the idea of being in a romantic relationship with his employees. Mr. Park sighed, contemplating Sophia's presence. "How is she different? Did you see the way she stared at me as if I were some fallen angel?" he questioned, his tone laced with a mixture of amusement and curiosity. Mr. Lee chuckled and responded, "What do you expect? You are handsome, and women are always falling at your feet. I thought you would be used to it by now, Alex. Regardless, you asked for someone different, and I went to great lengths to find the perfect candidate for you." "You're an ungrateful friend," Mr. Lee playfully retorted, exaggerating his tone for added effect. Mr. Park and Mr. Lee had been best friends since their elementary school days. Alex, born in America, had moved to Korea at the age of eight and met Mr. Lee when he started attending school there. The two had remained close throughout their academic journey, even attending Harvard University together. Shifting the focus of their conversation, Mr. Lee inquired, "Enough about your new assistant. How did the conference in Singapore go?" A smile crept across Mr. Park's face as he recalled the recent event. "It went exceptionally well. The conference brought together some of the most innovative minds in the industry, offering a platform for valuable insights and networking opportunities. Our company was recognized as the best electronic company and was mentioned in Forbes." "I'm thrilled to hear that," Mr. Lee responded with genuine enthusiasm. "Your hard work and dedication are truly paying off." As their conversation continued, Mr. Lee excused himself, needing to attend to his own work. Left alone in his office, Mr. Park reflected on the progress his company had made and the challenges that lay ahead. Despite his initial reservations about his new assistant, he couldn't help but feel a flicker of curiosity and intrigue regarding Sophia Quinn. Exhausted from her previous day's work, Sophia slumped into her office chair, dressed in professional attire that concealed her curves. She was determined to present herself as modest and respectful in front of her boss, Mr. Park. Before leaving work the previous day, Mr. Lee had reminded her of the office rules, emphasizing the importance of adhering to them. The list of rules seemed never-ending, but Sophia was committed to following each one diligently. She had meticulously prepared Mr. Park's schedule, arranged his appointments, and ensured that everything was in order. Now, with the arrival of a new day, Mr. Park made his entrance, heading straight to his office. "Good morning, sir," Sophia greeted Mr. Park, hoping for a more welcoming response. Without acknowledging her greeting, Mr. Park immediately inquired, "I hope you have made all the necessary arrangements for today and scheduled all my meetings?" "Yes, sir. I have taken care of everything," Sophia replied, feeling a tinge of disappointment at his curt demeanor. As thirty minutes passed, it was time for Sophia to bring Mr. Park his coffee. Knocking gently on his office door, she received permission to enter. As she approached his desk, Mr. Park remained engrossed in his computer, seemingly oblivious to her presence. Placing the coffee on his desk, Sophia made a small attempt to gain his attention. However, she was met with silence. Just as she was about to leave, Mr. Park's voice cut through the air, calling her by name for the first time. "Miss Quinn," he uttered, causing Sophia to startle slightly at the sound of her name. "I forgot to inform you, Miss Quinn. Get ready because we will be departing for Italy in a week for a business meeting with my partners. Do not be late," Mr. Park informed her, his voice maintaining its characteristic coldness. "Okay, sir," Sophia responded, her excitement evident as she realized this would be her chance to travel to Italy, a place she had longed to visit. "You may go. That will be all for now," Mr. Park dismissed her, leaving Sophia with a mix of anticipation and a renewed determination to excel in her role as his assistant. As she left his office, a rush of emotions filled Sophia. She couldn't help but marvel at the unexpected opportunity that lay ahead, and she silently vowed to make the most of it, ready to face the challenges and adventures that awaited her in Italy.
