The next morning, my eyelids feel like they're velcroed together even though I washed off my makeup last night. If there was ever a day I didn't want to go to work, it'd be today. But I already took an unannounced half-day this week, and today is Friday. Plus, maybe I could use the distraction. My heart beats sticky like black tar in my chest. It's going to take me a long time to figure out how to feel about Roxy not being a Lycan Hunter, despite all the signs. The thought of living in the same building as someone who wants nothing more than to hurt me made me so on edge that I lost my grip. Though it's funny that now I can relax, I feel even more anxious.
