Our Unexpected Story

Chapter 1: First Day

" Chin-Chin wake up!! It's already 5 am you're gonna be late!" I heard my mom trying to wake me up from the ground floor of our house.

It is my first day of school as a Grade 8 student at Kaunlaran High School. My things are all prepared but my body and brain are not. they're still on vacation mode, so I keep turning off my alarm as it starts to bleep to wake me up. but there is an alarm that I can't turn off. Guess what is it?.. Yeah, that's my mother's mouth.

" Don't wait for me to come to your room just to pour you a bucket of water. Trust me I can do that " my mom said in a serious voice

My mom was hot-headed and I know she can do that because believe me or not she already did that to me once last year, and it took me 3 days to dry my bed. So I decided to wake up and take a quick shower.

" Ma, Can't you stop calling me in that name? (Chin-chin) " I said in an irritated voice

chin-chin was my nickname in our house and my mom has called me that since I was a child. Maybe when I was a child that was sounds cute but now that I am a teenager gosh it doesn't sound cool.

" Why? I used to call you in that name since then and It sounds cute" My mom replied with a sarcastic smile.

" Ma, stop teasing me, it doesn't sound cool" I rolled my eyes as an indication that I was already teased off.

"Alright, Alright Just finish your meal I'm just gonna go wake up your father... chin-chin HAHAHAHA" My mom left me with an irritating smile, well I guess it's obvious that she likes to tease me often.

Oh wait I didn't Introduce myself to you first. Well, I am Yshane Villamor, 14 years old. I am currently studying as a grade 8 student at Kaunlaran High School. I can say that I'm a consistent honor student because since Grade school I have always on the recognition list, but don't expect too much I'm not a genius, I'm just lucky hehe.

*Back to the present*

" Ma, I'll go ahead first. bye!" I shouted so my mom could hear me up there. Don't worry, we usually shout at our house so you should get to it.

" Okay, take care! "

My school is just a walking distance from our house, but since it is a bit far, I usually ride a pedicab, especially when I'm getting late.

It was already 6:15 am when I arrived at the front of our school, and it seemed like I was not that late since I also saw a bunch of my schoolmates at the front gate of our school.

The first thing I did was to look for my sections and classmates. I searched for my section at the front of the queue since it is where you can find the line for your section. When I found it, I started to look for my former classmates in grade 7 so I would not feel awkward, and I found Ariah Marquez..

" Hey, Ariah!" I waved to her and she waved back and let me join her to our line.

" Do you know that I saw your crush?" Ariah said with a thrilled voice

" Really? Where is he?" I asked out of excitement.

"He belongs to our section, Girl!" she said and it looks like she was more excited than me.

" Wait, Is that true? but can you please lower your voice first because it's so embarrassing if he heard us" I also said that because other people on our line started to look at us.

" Oh sorry, I am just so happy for you Girl, I wish my crush was also our classmate huhu " she said pretending to be sad.

" Well it's not about me it's about you so let's go back to the topic. Do you know that he's the guy at the front of our line? I can't believe you didn't notice him" she said

" Really? Wait I'll check it" I said and went to the front line of our queue to check if she was saying the truth.

Jacob Buenaventura was my former crush back when I was in my first year I started to like him at the rehearsal of our recognition ceremony since he was my seatmate back then. due to the hot temperature in the Philippines and our school was not air-conditioned I started sweating in the middle of our practice, and he insisted on turning his mini fan on me, that was a gentlemanly move for me that's why when I got back on our room I told my best friends that I have a new crush, and they spread it at our whole section.

When I saw him at the front of our queue I felt nothing since I didn't like him anymore, because I am that type of girl who is easy to move on. I just pretend to be thrilled to not kill the excitement of Ariah.

"He's really there" I said when I came back to our line.

"See? I told you !! I wish I was you huhu " she said, while making a sad face.

"Girl, don't be sad you can still see your crushes in our hallway or even at the canteen" I said to motivate her.

" Well you're right, but promise me you'll join me on my guy's hunting, ah?"

" ahm.. I'll think about it HAHAHAHA "

" Ugh you're so bad "

In the middle of our conversation, a lady who looks like at the age of 40 showed up from the gate and introduce herself as our new adviser.

She's Mrs. Evelyn Vasquez our adviser and my subject teacher at Araling Panlipunan or History. She doesn't look strict, so I felt secure that time. She guided us on our way to our classroom and let us sit where we wanted, so I and Ariah decided to sit beside each other. when Ariah found another person she knew, she also invited her to sit beside her and they were talking, so I started to be quiet and observe my surroundings or other classmates, and guess who I saw?? I saw Aero Enrique, the one who I ghosted last year It's so embarrassing to think that we're classmates I don't think I have the strength to face him.

As I continued looking around I saw different faces. Some of them are new to me while the others are familiar, just like Aero. Time passed by and I think most of my classmates were already there, so Ms. Vasquez decided to rearrange our seats from the smallest to the tallest since I'm a tall girl I already expected that my seat would be at the back. Well, that always happens I never experienced sitting in the front seat of our classroom.

When we sat at our designated place, my seatmates were all new to me. they are all looked unfamiliar that's why, due to necessity, I decided to show my extrovert personality and talk to my seatmate but suddenly she ignored me like what's wrong with her? who is she to do that to me?!! but I'm the kind of girl who is not easy to give up so I keep on talking to her even if she already look like irritated.

" Hi! What a coincidence, I also read w*****d " I said with a jolly voice when I saw her reading w*****d on her phone, and since I also read, w*****d I think that would be a great starting topic for us.

"None of your business " She looked at me and rolled her eyes, then she continued reading.

" Oh, That's a possessive series !" I teased her when I read the title of what she's reading and through that I successfully caught her attention.

" Shh ! Lower your voice someone can hear you " She said to stop me revealing her secret

" I don't expect that you like to read that kind of story ah" I said while tickling her as if we were close. HAHAHAHA

" Well, maybe my face looks innocent but my brain was not Hahahaha " I think finally I'm going to have a buddy now thanks to my talent.

" Oh By the way I'm Yshane, and you are?"

" I'm Maria Ashiana, but please Just call me I really hate my first name" she said with an irritated face, it looked like she really hated it like I hate my nickname

" Let's try to talk to the others and know their names" I invited her to join me on my friend hunting but..

" Just do it yourself, I just watch you from here." as I expected, she refused to join me.

When Ashiana declined me, I try to talk to the girl in my right side, and guess what she is easier to talk with than Ashiana they really have a big difference both physically and in their personality.

April Mae is a short hair, slinky girl and she literally looks like a campus girl actually a lot of people say she's cute but for me she's not, she's not my type tho because I'm into girls who look clean, cute and simple, especially the girls with a ponytail I really admired them. but anyway Zapanta is a fat woman and the type of person who is always being bullied and I proved it when we became classmates for like a month they always bullied her and bad-mouth her behind her back.

When I already handled Zapanta's personality I invited her to join me in my friend-hunting activity and she literally joined me.

" Hi, What's your name?" I said, pertaining to the girl in front of me.

Guess what she did?... she just looked at us without saying anything !! I think I already found an April Version 2.

I heard April laugh at me so I looked at her with a killer eye. and I just put my attention to her.

" Don't look at me with those eyes or else I'll go get your eyeballs"

" What are you saying?.." I slowly prepare my hands to tickle her so she starts to move her body away from.

" Don't do it, promise I'll slap you" she said to warn me but god knows I am not afraid

I keep on tickling her even if she's pushing me away and, because of that, I think we catch the attention of others due to our noise so we started to keep quiet and since that day we have become best friends.
