Chapter 7 What Exactly Is Your Relationship?

1230 Words
Elizabeth's smile had a deadly allure, both charming and captivating, causing a faint flutter in the hearts of those who saw it. She spoke as if she were greeting an old friend she had unexpectedly encountered here. William questioned, "Are you really Elizabeth?" After three years, Elizabeth had changed so much that he could hardly recognize her. Elizabeth nonchalantly munched on her food and said, "Who else would I be, Mr. Dickens? People change, you know!" William couldn't find the familiar smile on her face that he once knew so well. He then abruptly grabbed Elizabeth's arm with force and demanded, "What exactly are you up to, Elizabeth? Answer me! You hurt me back then and left just like that. Now you're back and even seek revenge. What do you really want from me?" His grip was painfully strong, and it caused her to furrow her brows. "Mr. Dickens, if you don't let go, I'll call security!" William then forced Elizabeth to look at him and demanded, "Answer me!" Elizabeth mockingly chuckled, "Mr. Dickens, if you're so curious, why don't you ask your stepmother?" William frowned. "You know she's my stepmother?" Elizabeth sarcastically smiled, "I actually know quite a lot, you see. I even know that Eleanor is the fiancée your stepmother chose for you. Oh, and I'm sure you wanted to teach me a lesson for what I did to your fiancée, right?" She then didn't give William any chance to respond and continued, "But what difference does it make if you teach me a lesson? Others might not know, but surely you can tell if those videos are real, right, Mr. Dickens? Hmm, I wonder how you feel knowing that your fiancée did all those things before she met you! Of course, how you feel is none of my concern. My actions may have tarnished the Dickens family's reputation, but ultimately, they were to your benefit. I wasn't seeking revenge, you see? So, you don't have to thank me, Mr. Dickens!" Her words left William utterly speechless. This version of Elizabeth was so unfamiliar that he couldn't find any trace of the person she used to be. Afterward, she stood up as she spoke, "Of course, if you're upset about your fiancée's reputation being tarnished, that's okay. You can definitely seek revenge on me. I'm not afraid of you and ready for whatever you throw at me." Elizabeth sighed, "I actually wanted to eat more, but seeing someone as disgusting as you has spoiled my appetite. I'll leave the rest for you then, Mr. Dickens. Oh, and don’t worry, this one's on me!" With that, Elizabeth gracefully prepared to leave. William stood up and asked, "Elizabeth, what exactly is your relationship with Alexander?" Upon hearing that, Elizabeth stopped in her tracks but didn't turn around to face him. William approached her and leaned closer toward her ear. Upon seeing Elizabeth's dangerously alluring earlobe, he suppressed the rising desire within him and asked in a deep voice, "Tell me, how many men have you been with to get where you are today? Every piece of clothing you're wearing now must have cost millions. Is Alexander really that generous with you?" Elizabeth smiled and turned around to face him. Despite being shorter in height, she exuded an imposing air that was in no way inferior to him. Afterward, she slowly leaned toward William's ear. As Elizabeth's warm breath brushed against his ear, it involuntarily flushed red. Elizabeth chuckled softly, "Do you want to pay me to sleep with you, Mr. Dickens? Well, sure! Here, take a number and get in line." With that, she took out a card from her bag with the number "100" written on it and handed it to William, instructing him, "This is your number. Remember, when you come to see me, you must bring your number. Otherwise, I won't see you! Goodbye!" Elizabeth then waved at him while smiling seductively. William looked at the 100 number in his hand and immediately tore it to pieces. That ruthless b***h! ***** Just when everyone thought the matter was over, Benjamin York, the second heir of the York family, came forward to present evidence that there were no signs of tampering in Elizabeth's video. He even vouched for its authenticity with his professional career and personal integrity. Benjamin was a renowned national prodigy. Even at the tender age of five, he displayed exceptional talent in computing. Throughout his journey, he continued to exhibit all the qualities expected of a prodigy, ultimately making significant contributions to the country. When even Benjamin had come out to vouch for the video's authenticity, netizens began to sway and realize the gravity of the situation. Netizen 1: Hell! I never expected the heiress of the Jones family to have such a scandalous private life! Netizen 2: She's just a deceitful snake and a master manipulator! Have you heard the things she says? She's constantly trying to smear Elizabeth's name. Netizen 3: She claims Elizabeth is jealous of her. We haven't seen anything between Elizabeth and Mr. Dickens, so who knows what the real story is! Netizen 4: I think Eleanor must have wronged Elizabeth somehow, which explains why Elizabeth is retaliating like this! Netizen 5: The real disgusting person is Eleanor. She has tarnished the reputation of the Dickens family! Netizen 6: But if I recall correctly, Mr. Dickens never actually acknowledged her as his fiancée, right? Netizen 7: She's just shamelessly throwing herself at him then! Netizen 8: I heard that Eleanor didn't even live with the Jones family before. She was only found and brought back later! Numerous negative comments flooded the internet. Paul saw the news and asked the person beside him, "Who exactly is Elizabeth? Not only is she close with the first heir of the York family, Mr. Alexander York, but even the second heir, Mr. Benjamin York, is standing up for her." Frederick Murphy furrowed his brows and said, "Elizabeth's last name is also York. Could she be the heiress of the York family?" Upon hearing that, William's eyes instantly flickered. "That's impossible!" Paul immediately dismissed the idea. "Everyone knows the York family doesn't have any heiress. Besides, you all saw how financially struggling she was back when we were in university!" Frederick carefully considered it and realized Paul was right. If she were really the York family's heiress, how could they allow their daughter to frequently run out of money? Paul leaned closer to William and teasingly said, "But, William, your fiancée sure was wild back in the day. It's a good thing you haven't gotten too serious with her yet, or you would have been made a complete fool of..." Before he could finish speaking, William abruptly stood up. Paul looked at him in confusion and asked, "Where are you going, William?" ***** Elizabeth and Chloe finished their meal and walked out of the restaurant with smiles on their faces. Chloe chuckled, "Your move has completely crushed Eleanor. It won't be easy for her to recover from this." Elizabeth replied, "That might not be the case. Don't forget, she has someone helping her." Chloe asked, "You mean William's stepmother, Mila?" Elizabeth nodded. "Yeah. Back then, Mila used so many tactics to get rid of me for Eleanor. She won't let Eleanor go down without a fight." Upon hearing that, Chloe looked at her with concern.
