The staff of the court arrived. After confirming everyone was there, the judge declared that the court was in session.
One of the judges said, "Ella Dickens, as the defense, you are required to answer this question honestly. The plaintiff claimed that she only accompanied you to the hospital, and to ease your burden, she allowed you to use her name. Is what she said true?"
Ella did not expect to be asked at the very beginning of the trial. Scared, she couldn't help but gaze at Byron.
Byron glanced at her warningly.
Ella froze. "No, that's not how it was. I accompanied Elizabeth to the hospital because she had a child with another man, but she lied to me, claiming it was my brother's. She even said that my brother didn't want it, so we went to the hospital."
