The receptionist shook her head and said, "I'm sorry. I'm just a receptionist. No one would tell me about the company's internal affairs."
That was true, indeed!
It was the first time that Lucas saw William getting the cold shoulder. Most people, if they knew that William was visiting, would show up in no time and treat him with courtesy, even flattery.
Chandler also happened to witness all this.
Striding over, she greeted, "Mr. Dickens, Lucas, nice to meet you guys!"
Both William and Lucas eyed her strangely, having no idea who this woman was.
Chandler then remembered that she had not introduced herself yet.
"Mr. Dickens, Lucas, I'm Chandler Helberg, the sales manager of this company. Mind if we have a little chat?"
Lucas gave William a look.
"Sure" William agreed.
