EPISODE 36- DAVID VS THE CRIMSON PHANTOM

As we saw the two figures the energy pressure we felt also became stronger. Suddenly one of the two figures stopped chanting and spoke. “Looks like we have visitors.” The crimson like phantom figure then turned around and looked directly at our direction.

The crimson phantom was almost see-through with his body being dominated by a crimson red color, along with some black highlights. He had no feet and he seems to be floating like a ghost, his face was made of a white mask which can change its expression.

The three adventurers along with me were suddenly petrified. I don't why they were petrified by the figure, but I took a closer look. After observing the crimson phantom figure, I saw that he has given us a gaze that penetrates your very soul. However, I am not affected by his gaze, but to my comrades, the enemy is like flaunting its power.

“Three humans, and you I don't even know what kind are you? But you appear to be soulless, so are you perhaps a demon or a golem.” Spoke the crimson phantom with an unsettling voice.

“I thought mister here has a scary voice, but this guy is on another level. I never felt this kind of shivers when we met you, mister.” Spoke Karl as he tried to raise his shield and sword.

The crimson phantom then looked slightly to his back and spoke to the jester wearing man. “Hey, Morillo why don't you deal with these pests?”

The jester looking man then spoke, “What about the sacrifice to summon the army of darkness you command.”

“I'll handle it, but I should not have any interruptions when doing this. So don't let them get a step closer to me before I finish the ritual.” Spoke the crimson phantom, it then looked back at the magic circle and continued his chant.

The jester looking man then walked away from the magic circle and moved towards us. He then points and his staff and asked, “How dare you interrupt this special occasion?”

“Where's Bella and Marcia!?!” yelled Karl to the man.

“Bella and Marcia? Oh, I see now, so you have come to retrieve those girls. Too bad but their bodies will be soon eaten by the dark lord's forces.”

Karl suddenly charges to the man without notice, yelling his skill “Dash!”. He then appeared behind the jester looking man prepared to swing his sword.

However, the jester looking man who was about to be slashed by Karl's sword suddenly disappeared into thin air. Causing Karl to be surprised and to react by searching his surrounding.

“You are too slow and far too weak,” spoke the jester looking man as he suddenly reappeared behind Karl. “Give back our friends” yelled Karl as he swings his sword at the jester-man behind him.

However, the man suddenly disappeared again into thin air as Karl's sword was about to hit him. “W~hat!”

The man then appeared in Karl's front, he then “This is why you're weak.” He then chanted a magic skill, “Lightning Bolt!” an orb with lighting suddenly hit Karl's armor, causing him to be electrocuted.

After being hit by the skill, Karl suddenly fell down to his knees. The jester looking man then looked at Karl and spoke, “Even how much you try, your actions would still be futile. As all of you are far too weak to fight against me.”

I immediately asked to Xyra after hearing the man, “Hey, can you give me the power of this man?” Xyra immediately responded, “Affirmative, also sir I have found the location of miss Bella and Marcia, along with other unknown females.”

“Really, thanks you're truly are a great help, Xyra. So where are the girls?”

“In the middle of the magic circle, it seems they are slowly sinking down to the ground, where an even stronger energy pressure exists. ”

After hearing Xyra I immediately yelled, I don't know if it was the right or wrong thing to do. But we were against time, “You three go get the girls in the middle of the magic circle.”

The two left behind gave an immediate nod and dashed forward the magic circle, but as expected the jester man immediately blocked their path.

“You shall not pass!”

“I'm your opponent you fool!” I yelled as I suddenly appeared in his front. But as I swing my sword, like Karl, he suddenly disappeared. However, I wasn't slow as Karl, so I reacted by turning my body behind and sliced the figure that suddenly appeared behind me.

Unlike Karl, I was able to wound the jester man with my attacks. Forcing him to move back a few feet away from me, giving David and Lucy enough time to heal Karl with their potions.

“What really are you? I can feel that you are not human, so don't even think about lying.” asked the jester-like man.

“I don't need to tell you anything,” I yelled as I charge forward to the man. He then replied as he also prepared to attack, “Then you will die a painful death, ‘Penetrating Fire Arrow’ ” an arrow made of fire sudden materialize in his right hand. The man then aimed the arrow at me and pushed it using his hand.

It then flew towards me, the speed was almost the same as a bullet. But this was not a problem as my Z01 Assassin was built for agility and speed. So evading the enemy's fire arrow was an easy task for me.

“Impressive indeed, but how can you evade these attacks. [Gattling Fire Arrow]” The man then released a barrage of fire arrows targetted towards me. It was almost similar to a machine gun firing tracer rounds at their enemy.

I immediately evaded all the incoming fire arrows, even though my HP was more than thirty thousand. But the reason why I am evading the attacks instead of tanking it, because Xyra told me before that my body was less durable.

It is common knowledge to players that HP and durability are totally different. There are players with medium HP but are hard to kill, because of their high aptitude for magic and physical defense. And there's also that one kind of player who focuses his stats on HP. He may be tough to kill, but his weakness is mostly continuous rapid attacks.

So currently I am the player who has a large amount of HP but could be killed with rapid continuous attacks. And it's not even helping that my enemy could do such a thing, so my best chance of defeating him is through agility and speed.

Karl, David, and Lucy who was running toward the magic circle was suddenly stopped by the crimson phantom. “Don't even dare move a single step from there.”

David without hesitation rebuked the crimson phantom's words. As he charges forward with his sword prepare to slay the phantom. “Karl, Lucy go get the girls I will handle this thing myself.”

“But David!”

“Just go, Karl! I can not let mister there again do all of the show-off moves,” spoke David confidently to Karl.

The Phantom then looked at David and spoke, “So a weakling like you dares to challenge me. How pathetic, seeing you already trembling by just giving you a gaze. ”

“So what!?! Does that mean I can't fight!?! Sorry to break it to you, but I am willing to do everything within my power to save my friends. Even it means facing something like you.”

The crimson phantom then started to laugh, “Hahaha! You, humans, are truly amusing. But that just makes it way more fun in killing you.” The phantom then charges towards David.

“Come at me!” yelled David as he also charged towards the phantom. As they reached each other range the two then started to clash. David swung his sword while the phantom also swung his right arm which suddenly took the form of a crimson blade.

Thus creating a sound of two scraping metal to each other, causing the two to stop. However, David immediately released a barrage of slashes, but the phantom also did the same. Both their movements were fast, but David was clearly at a disadvantage, as he was slowly being pushed back by them clashing their swords together.

“So we are even in speed, but I clearly have the upper hand in strength and magic.” spoke cockily by the phantom, as David was starting to struggle with the clash.

My arms are starting to become heavy, and I'm getting push back. Karl and Lucy will you two hurry up, I think I can't keep up with this guy any longer.

The crimson phantom suddenly spoke David with an even cockier tone, “You're already tired aren't you, then why don't you just stop resisting and I will slice you up painlessly.”

“Sorry, but I'm not gonna fall like that easily!” David suddenly had a determined looked at his face. He then yelled one of his skills, [ Limit Breaker! ] David's slowing speed in swinging his sword suddenly became faster.

The phantom's mask suddenly had a wide smile after seeing David. “Hohoho! So you still got some steam left inside you.” The phantom suddenly changes his gaze from David to Karl and Lucy. “Looks like your friends are about to foil my plan, so why don't you just show everything that you've got to ensure victory.” Spoke the phantom to David.

David with his naive attitude spoke, “That's nice of you giving a tip at your opponent, even though you will definitely lose. Then I will do just that if it implies ensured victory.”

David then yelled another skill, [ Berserker Fury!], David's arms suddenly became bulkier and started to have veins appeared, and his eyes turned red. His speed was now even double after yelling his skill. Not only that it seems that he also became stronger as he was finally stopped from being pushed back, and was now standing on a stalemate with the crimson phantom.

However, the phantom's mask suddenly showed a sly smile, but David was too invested in their clash to even noticed it. The phantom suddenly raised his left arm and turned it into another crimson blade.

David noticed this causing him to react by blocking the new crimson blade. But the Phantom used this opportunity to thrust his right sword to David, as David became occupied with the new appeared sword.

David didn't notice causing his to be stabbed in his stomach. His mouth then vomited blood as he finally drops his sword. Karl and Lucy who just saw it screamed his name. “DAVIIID!”

Even Destroyer who was occupied in fighting the jester man suddenly paused and looked at the three. He then saw David who has been defeated slowly fall down to the ground. With a giant wound in his stomach.

“You fell for it, i***t, hahaha!” spoke the Phantom as he also laughed at the dying David. The phantom then looked at Karl and Lucy who were pulling the girls out of the magic circle. The phantom then spoke, “You two, did you think I'm gonna let you off easy.” The phantom then snaps his fingers which summoned crawlers from the shadows.

Karl and Lucy immediately stopped pulling out the unconscious girls. “Damn it, I haven't pulled Marcia and Bella yet. I'm sorry David for wasting your sacrifice.” Spoke David in frustration as he saw his friend laying on the ground.

“Looks like you have already lost,” spoke the jester-like man to Destroyer who also stopped on his attack. Destroyer then looked at the man, and asked, “Why did you do this?”

“What do you mean?”

“A man has reasons for doing such things, so you probably had a reason for this.” Spoke Destroyer as he raised his sword again and points it to the man.

“…..” The man didn't give him an answer but instead change the topic. “You truly are not human, as the tome of your voice does not pity your ally who is suffering.” Spoke the jester man.

“Am I not a human, the answer is probably. But my tone may not sound pitying my ally. But I am truly infuriated, as that boy is one of my assets. Let's stop talking and finish this.”

“Good I prefer destroying you than listening to your questions.”

Karl who was with Lucy suddenly stood up and spoke, “I'm going to save David. Can you handle these crawlers, Lucy? ”

“What are you planning Karl?”

Karl faced Lucy with a determined look, “ I'm going to save David, Bella, Marcia, the kidnapped girls, and you. I'll save everyone who is inside this cave.”

Karl then walked towards the Phantom, who noticed him. “Are you planning to be killed next, knight?” Spoke the Phantom with a terrifying smile on his face.
