My phone buzzed for the first time since I arrived at the manor. It hadn’t rang at all while Ruby and I were talking, but now it was acting like it had bees in its circuits. Pulling it out of her pocket, Ruby handed it over. “You forgot it on the nightstand when you left. I was bringing it to you when I saw Lady Maria corner you.” She said, her voice a mix of fear and hope. Accepting it gratefully, I let out a breath as I slid the answer button across the screen. “Hey, Alpha.
