It was fabric and furs created in the distinct artistry of the Northern wolf tribes. When Ember’s mother heard we were getting married, she demanded to have part of the ceremony reflect Ruby’s historic Arctic Shield roots. Faux fabrics that mimicked caribou, polar bear, and seal skin were dyed in their people’s colours of golds, whites, grays, and browns. Her shoes were hand-sewn leather, warm and waterproofed, colourfully beaded in mosaic sigils that offered blessings and grounding.
