Moving through the forest toward home was a different experience with Ruby and Saffron beside me. Rather than take my usual pace, I slowed down for her. She was stronger, wiser, braver than she ever thought she could be, and I loved every bit of it. Her strength would keep me sane, keep me from slipping into darkness. I already walked between worlds. Between good and bad, right and wrong, peace and chaos. And Ruby? She was my sanctuary.
