"Welcome Home"
Moving through the forest toward home was a different experience with Ruby and Saffron beside me. Rather than take my usual pace, I slowed down for her. She was stronger, wiser, braver than she ever thought she could be, and I loved every bit of it. Her strength would keep me sane, keep me from slipping into darkness. I already walked between worlds. Between good and bad, right and wrong, peace and chaos. And Ruby? She was my sanctuary. The recent storm had affected the lake, forcing the waters to rise a few feet and spill out onto the beaten path that wound its way around the lake, branching off in several places that led to one territory or another.
