Branson POV: I held my breath as I waited for her response. I knew deep down she would say no; and I understood that. Her mate, our mate, was lying in a hospital bed and we didn’t know if he would make it. It was still strange to me to think of Atlas as my mate, but he was. Through Reena we were now brothers, bonded through her, and it killed me to know he was fighting for his life. But I also knew he would not want me to worry about him, but make sure she was safe and cared for no matter what. I would want and expect the same thing from him if the tables were turned.
