What started as a peaceful night had quickly turned into a nightmare. I had woken up in the pack hospital, with Dr. Veil and the nurses surrounding me. The pain was shooting through my whole body as I screamed. It seemed to swallow me whole in each wave, I thought I was going to die.
I couldn't see either of my mates anywhere in the room. Tears streamed down my face as I gasped for air. My chest was heavy with a sadness I couldn't shake. All I remembered was seeing Brett lunge at Branson as he fell to his knees in the grass.
I just knew he was the loss my mother had mentioned in my dream. At one point I swore time was moving in slow motion and now it was going at rapid speed. Everything seemed to be happening faster than I could process it.
