Chapter 16: Love Line

1264 Words
Tanya already decided to embrace her new life. And since she did, she came to decide on learning more about her businesses. The very reason why she's currently up there. At the top.  She knew that she didn't personally worked hard on everything she has now. That she just gained all of these privileges in an instant and in comfort. Thus, in order for her to preserve everything and be deemed worthy for this gift bestowed on her, she will now dedicate herself in studying her businesses and be involved more. She can't just continue to rely on her employees. Specially Russell and Rosette. She already did her researches before, but those are only worth 100 days of study. Since she has already decided to study them all, she will need to start from the bottom. And she's more willing to do so. This has become her new world. A world where everything is within her reach. She will definitely not waste this chance and do the very reason why she was given this in the first place. To help. "Tired?"  Rosette asked when Tanya suddenly stretched her arms. The two was inside the prior's office and was seating perpendicularly against each other.  Tanya was there for one reason. To learn from Rosette first hand. If she wanted to learn the ins and outs of her chains of hospital, she need not think twice but ask it from the President herself. Unlike Russell, this younger sister is pretty lenient, too. But that is not the reason why she chose to study this business first. She figured that it's easier and immediate to help poverty-stricken people if it's via Medical Assistance, since she already has this business in hand.   Additionally, her first-hand experience in relation to this field also added to her decision. As she grew up in a poor convent, she has noticed how the sisters there turned problematic whenever one of the kids fell sick and requires to be brought in the hospital. She thought at first that the sisters were just simply worried, but later on, she was stricken by the sad truth. As they are poor and can't pay the required deposit, they won't be treated. Money comes first before life.  And Tanya doesn't want that to happen to other kids anymore. She can't let them suffer just like she did. "Ms. Tanya?" Tanya suddenly saw Rosette's hand flicked in front of her. Upon looking at the latter's facial expression, she immediately realized. Looks like she drifted into deep thoughts while still in conversation. "Uh, sorry. Yes. You were saying something?" She sheepishly asked. Rosette gave Tanya a smile. "Looks like something is bothering you. Is it about your special project in Caloocan?" Tanya sighed and closed the document she is supposed to read. "Well, yeah. Kinda. I am still worried that Russell might not approve it. You know your brother too, Ross. He's quite stubborn in terms of projects he knew that has small to no return." She problematically explained. Yet, Rosette just chuckled. "You still realize you're our boss, right? That dude will prolly not reject it. Plus, you even clearly stated your purpose for that project. If he still says no, that would really be uncool. Besides, I bet he's planning to use that project for PR purposes. You know, people in internet is still talking about how Samantha De Dios appeared to help a homeless family." "Wait. She did?" Tanya surprisingly asked.  She can't help but still hope a little that Samantha still hasn't lost her humanity. However, she saw Rosette rolled her eyes in the air before answering. "Well, yeah but we do know it's fake. That b***h- uh sorry for the word but she really is- was just using that family to help her company's stock value to rise. A perfect scam. Russell didn't mind the dirty tricks at first since TG Capital is still way ahead of them in the market. However, last week, internet trolls suddenly started attacking us. They kept on slandering and branding us as a vacuum for money. That we don't really care about people and just care about money and nothing else. Those… arggh!" Rosette massaged her head. She really was annoyed. "That's why- though not much, it still started to cause a bit of a damage to our stock value. Well, knowing my brother, he can just go ahead and delete those attacking posts against us without a problem. However, he still needs something to clean our names. Though we did not do anything wrong-" "That's why you think he's going to use my project?" Tanya asked, cutting Rosette's lengthy chat. This is just what she complains about the woman. She has a mouth that knows no period, just a comma. "Well, uhhh, yeah. Though, he's going to be sincere too. You know. The PR purposes is just a plus." Rosette defensively explained. She felt so awkward that she rashly put down the documents she's reading on the table, causing her to accidentally push her pen down on the floor. She immediately bent down to pick it up but held Tanya's hands instead. Apparently, Tanya also tried to pick the pen up but she was just a millisecond late. Rosette's cheeks blushed and her heart suddenly jumped. She tried looking up only to meet Tanya's eyes. Stupefied, she immediately withdrew her gaze as well as her hand. Tanya smiled with the situation and didn't even noticed Rosette's reaction. "I know." She said, handing the pen back to the flushed Rosette Collins in front of her.       Exactly one day after that talk, Tanya finally received the good news from Russell. The project was approved and will be planned immediately. Since then, things went hectic for Tanya and before she knew it, she's already standing on the site of her choice for the groundbreaking ceremony event. There, Tanya was told to wait under the gloom of the tent they prepared just until the announcement to start will be announced. And when the go signal was finally announced, Tanya turned confused. She has been looking around all this time and knew that there's still no media around. This project is supposed to be a PR strategy also, right? Why is this so? All she can see are just hired photographers by the company. "Looking for the media?" Russell asked as he walked towards Tanya.  Tanya nodded. "I don't see them. Why?" She curiously asked. "I thought you'll also use this project as a PR strat?"  Russell smiled thinly. "I know I'd sound cold but I would still be honest, I am still using your project for our company's PR. However, I won't be using the media to spread the news. I have other ways hidden up my sleeves. And besides, this project is your first personal project initiated ever since. I don't wanna ruin it with some of media's biased questions."  Hearing Russell's sincere and honest reply, Tanya can't help but be touched with his thoughtfulness. Though the project is still used for business related purposes, she's still grateful that Russell understood her sentiments and decided to make this event a memorable one for her. Positively. "Thanks. I owe you one." Tanya thanked. "Not really. This is just all I can do as your employee and a friend." Russell replied.  Then they both heard the MC calling their names to start the ceremony. Russell moved aside and motioned Tanya to go ahead of him. And while staring at Tanya's back, Russell continued his paused sentence earlier.  "And hopefully your man..."
