Chapter 23: The Justice-seeking Begins

“They’re former FBI agents?!” Tanya asked with wide eyes after hearing Gilbert’s reasoning on why the twin brothers Monty and Morty were so good with guns and self-defense. “Yes, they were. You didn’t know about it, Miss?” Gilbert asked, a bit confused. “You saved them both when they were abandoned, right? Monty was shot in the chest while Morty was unconscious under a toppled car. You even paid for their hospital bills and the therapy, after.” Tanya turned speechless. She did that? Well, she really has no idea since she was never provided any details about the people living with her in this parallel world. She was just sent and then voila! These people are already with her. She never asked them, either. And since the guardian never showed up again even within those four years that passed by, she’s got no one to ask to as well. “Well, I don’t remember asking them about what happened.” Tanya halfly lied. Gilbert slowly nodded even though he’s still bewildered. He can still remember that it was actually his master who told him about the twin’s background. That she was confident that the two can protect her no matter what, even though she doesn’t necessarily need them. Why? Because Tanya rarely goes outside. ‘These four years of endless trainings and preparations must have made her forgetful.’ Gilbert silently concluded. “Well, enough with that.” Tanya dismissed the subject naturally. “How’s the preparation for later?” She asked, pertaining to the welcome party that they planned for Haru. “It’s already finished Miss. The girls are already done buying the groceries.” Tanya nodded. “That’s good. Oh, and by the way, Russell called earlier and informed me about a sudden dinner meeting schedule later tonight. I can’t decline it so I have to go. I will bring Monty with me so you guys can let Morty drive for you. Make sure that all of you are in your disguises, okay? Specially Sasaki.” Tanya reminded. “Noted, Miss. We will.” Gilbert replied and then Tanya dismissed him after.       [12:05 am, Manila] Haru’s plane has finally landed after a tiring 16-hour flight. With his already prepared designated disguise, he walked out of the arrival’s gate and looked for his ride among the crowd. He was looking around for a while but still can’t see no shadow of her. Where is she? “Hey you punk! How can you not recognize your own sister? Huh?” A flick at the back of his head came first before he could hear that familiar voice, nagging behind him. Haru immediately turned around, only to see, not just his sister but the rest of his family as well. “Welcome back Haru!” Everyone yelled loudly, ignoring other people’s stares. Haru chuckled and hugged his hot-headed sister first. “Thank you everyone. I’m glad to see you all again.” He said. “Us, too.” Gilbert replied. “And of course, that includes our master who is already waiting for you at home. That’s why we should all get going now and continue our celebration in there.” He ordered, and everyone agreed. When they reached the mansion, Tanya and Monty was already at the door, waiting. “Welcome back Haru.” Tanya said with a smile and opened her arms. Haru immediately ran and hugged her. “I’m finally back, sister Tanya.” He announced happily. “I know young man. And I am so proud of you.” Tanya happily replied while tapping Haru’s back. Finally. After four years, their preparations are now complete. But before they officially start their first mission, a welcome party for Haru’s success and return will be prioritized first.       Morning the next day, Tanya and her team are gathered inside their headquarters. This headquarters is composed of three different rooms; The Training Room, Conference Room, and the Security and Monitoring Room. The place is so huge and spacious that no one would think that this is located just below Tanya’s famous glass-walled mansion. And currently, all of them are inside the headquarters’ Conference Room to discuss their plan for their very first mission as members of the “Iskudo” Organization. They’re Leader and Founder; Tanya, was standing in front. “You all are already aware of SDD’s different shady businesses all over the country. And since it is impossible for us to eradicate those businesses all at once, it is decided that we do our missions one at a time.” She announced. Taking that announcement as his cue, Monty turned off the conference lights and turned on the projector. Showing in front of them are photos and few information of their first target business: a secret factory of illegal drugs under the façade of a pharmaceutical company. “This is our first target. The illegal drugs laboratory from Quiapo. Among all the laboratories scattered around Luzon, this was the closest and is perfect for our first mission. However, this one is also the laboratory that has the tightest security among all of them. Infiltration via deliveries won’t be an option for this lab. We need to infiltrate using another method.” Tanya paused. Then her eyes darted at Sasaki at the back. “That is why, we need you on this one right away, Sasaki.” She informed her. Sasaki swallowed her saliva. She suddenly felt anxious and she won’t deny that. But she has long decided to be the one who do this part of every mission. Thus, her resolve is already as hard as a steel. “Of course, Miss. I will do it.” She firmly gave her reply. Tanya smiled and nodded at Sasaki. “Now. This is what you will do Sa. You will pretend to be the newly hired chemist from Japan. Don’t worry, the real Japanese chemist will not be around for that day thanks to Haru. However, you'll only have that particular day to do the mission. If you fail-" “I understand, Ms. Tanya. Do not worry." Sasaki cut in. "I’m well aware of the consequences if I fail. Thus, I will do my utmost best to succeed.” She said, eyes full of determination. Tanya saw through this and smiled. “ Thanks Sa. I trust you on this. But I also trust that you will prioritize your safety if everything goes in haywire. Forget the mission and escape. Do you copy?” Tanya seriously reminded that she received a nod of certainty from Sasaki. “And here.” Morty announced and handed Sasaki a bracelet. “This is a device that we always use during infiltration missions before. So, if ever you’d be in danger, just press this button right here and we will immediately receive a distress signal. And when that happens, we will immediately come to your aid no matter what. So better do your mission successfully, or else… this mission will surely turn into a bloodbath.” Sasaki was rendered speechless by Morty’s words. Was he actually being serious? Tanya, who did not know about the bracelet until now, was also surprised. However, she was thankful about its use at the same time.  “Morty’s right.” She seconded Morty right away. “We're a family Sa. And if a bloodbath requires for us to save you, then bloodbath it is. We will never abandon you, remember that. Not on this mission. And not for the incoming missions as well."  Tanya looked at rest of the members gathered around. All of them are nodding in agreement with her. She continued. "No one from this family will abandon a family member. After all, this organization was created because we lost one before. And losing another one this time, will be out of the question. Right?" Tanya asked. "Right!" "Of course Ms. Tanya." "Exactly." "Yes, Ms. Tanya." "Hmmm. Hmmm." Tanya smiled and all of them looked at Sasaki. The woman can't help but be thankful. She will definitely succeed this first mission!
