The girl stands up quickly, brushing her clothes off. “Shut the f**k up,” she shoots back. “Why are you defending her? She’s a gold digger.” Nicole steps forward so fast the girl instinctively steps back. “Tell Bianca to stop playing dirty,” Nicole says coldly. “It’s pathetic.” The girls exchange a look. One of them swallows. “Who said Bianca sent us,” she mutters. Nicole just glares at them. Then she turns to me immediately and her voice softens. “Are you alright?” She grabs my arm gently. I nod but honestly I’m still frozen. My ears are still ringing and my chest still feels tight. My brain is still trying to process what just happened. Why are people saying these things? How many people believe this? Nicole squeezes my arm again. “Come on,” she says firmly. “We’re leaving.”
