Emily Jack folds his arms and studies me for a second, then jerks his head toward forward. “We should go get lunch,” he says. “There’s a restaurant nearby. I’m hungry.” I stare at him. “Why the f**k would I do that?” He shrugs as if the answer is obvious. “Because I saved you.” I narrow my eyes at him. “You’re already dressed for practice. Shouldn’t you be heading there instead of kidnapping innocent students for lunch.” “I will,” he says easily. “After you eat with me.” Oh my God. I drag a hand through my hair and stare up at the sky as if patience might fall from it. This guy is so f*****g annoying. But if he walks back inside and starts running his mouth to Ken then my GPA is finished and my academic career will die a tragic early death. “Fine,” I mutter. “Just for today.”
