Chapter 3

Serene's POV

*Breathing heavily* I come back to the grounds after completing our run. Sighing deeply I think to myself, 'Remind me never to get on Alyx or Randy's bad side ever again.' Alyx and Randy are funny to be around and chill during those times, But as the current Beta and Gamma we are expected to be our strongest selves as Azure Warriors. As the daughter of the Alpha to our pack I am not given special treatment, I want to be the strongest female wolf within my pack.

I grab my hand towel to wipe off the sweat I feel on my forehead. Last thing I need is for Travis to see that I am a sweaty mess. I bent over to grab my water from my bag and as I was coming back up I felt a hard slap against my butt. Instantly turning around to see my best friend Elena giggling, saying, "What's up, sexy b**ch?"

"Girl I almost slapped you, I thought you were someone else." shaking my head at her while smiling. Like two peas in a pod. you never saw one without the other. Elena was a total badass and I love her so much. She is my bestie and nothing was gonna change that.

Elena, "Can't help it that booty is big and bouncy hehe. So after training I was thinking we should head back to the pack house shower and watch a movie. What do you think?" Because after a day of training chilling the rest of the day with my bestie sounds like heaven. "How does Sisterhood of the traveling pants sound?" I replied. "Absolutely, I am down for that. Should we see if the guys wanna join us?" I laugh at her question, "You know the guys will not sit through a chick flick, knowing them Nick will say "Chick flicks no thanks I rather watch Rambo after a hard day of training."." We both laugh knowing that is what he would say. "So lets be real for a second, what your dad told us this morning honestly I am nervous tomorrow the King is coming to your party and for a meeting with all Alpha's from neighboring packs Just thinking about that is incredible but nerve racking." Elena said. I replied, "It is nerve racking to know that they are coming especially the King but what is also on my mind and I can't shake this unknown feeling after hearing my dad mention the queen dowager's vision. The new Queen that is mated to be with King Eric eyes that emerald green and not just that glowing with her passionage. What does that mean that she will bring a prosperous era or suffering to our kind?" Elena stared at me placing her hand on my shoulder then said, "Honestly I am not sure but whoever she is I hope that she will be amazing and a wonderful queen. If she is not well I know of two badasses that can handle anything for now I think you need to spar for a bit to get that feeling out of you how does that sound?" She is right we don't know who she is or what she will do for the new era at this moment all I want to do is live in the moment and the unknown feeling will just have to wait until it becomes more clear to me. I nodded and started walking with her to the sparing area of the grounds,

I see an empty spot to start sparring with another member of the pack. I begin to stretch out my muscles and see at the corner of my eye Travis sparring with Adrian, I couldn't help but stare he is so good looking and seeing him topless during training was an extra perk. Before I can continue to admire his body I hear the most annoying shrieking voice that said "Woohoo, yeah babe you got this!". I turn around and there she was Maria, the most slutty annoying wolf girl I have ever met. But I dislike the most was that she and Travis were together. But ugh, seeing her try to be sexy and pose during her stretches was honestly gross. I do not like talking about other women like this but for Maria it is different. She has had it for me since we were in elementary school. Never said why and I do not care.

"Serene, you and Maria together are sparring lets go." Randy says snapping me out of my inner thoughts. 'Great the one person I do not want to spar with.' "Sure Randy I am ready." I responded.

"Maria lets go on the mat it is time to spar." Randy shouts out to Maria.

"Fine I guess I will spar with princess here." she says snarky tone.

"Wow...did you think that up all by yourself Maria. How smart of you, I have told you before I am not here for your b.s. so lets get this done." I said back to her.

"Whatever sparring or not I don't mind knocking your ass to the ground." She says.

"Well at least my ass will cushion the fall, but as for you it will be painful because you ain't got an ass." I replied.

Maria glared and started to circle the matt with her fist up and I followed the same. I will never take her s**t no matter if it is her or anyone. Maria then steps forward and starts to hit me with a 3 hit combo I step back to avoid the last one. I proceeded to her left and punch her hard with my right fist on her left upper arm. Maria groans angrily and then continues to punch my arms to make me break my block. Seeing her get more frustrated as I step back and hit her at different openings she has I know that I can bring her down within 3 mins. I then see Travis watching me, I know he is not looking at Maria or cheering her on but his eyes did not leave me at all. In that moment Maria punch the right side of my cheek. I was forced to break my block and step back.

In the moment I heard Maria say "Oops did I bruise your pretty face oh wait never mind it was never pretty to begin with.". She then charges to me but before she can attempt her next combo hit I quickly sweep my left leg under her causing her to trip. Maria face plants the floor, I then grab her left arm and right leg pinning her to the ground. "I know we said we were going to see who knock whose ass to the floor first but I figured with that big nose of yours would cushion your fall." I whisper in Maria's ear. As I feel her struggle underneath me Maria says "I am going to kick your ass if you don't get off of me you dumb b**ch.". One thing Alyx always said to us, "In training it will never be going easy on each other it is real and life or death. Be the first to find your enemies weakness and use it against them." Which is exactly what I did, after a few more minutes of Maria struggling she finally stopped. Just as I was about pull her muscles more tight to restrain her I hear Alyx say "Match ended Serene wins, that is enough you both are done for today."

I start to get up off of Maria and as I reached out my hand to her she slaps it away. "Get your damn hand away from me. You better watch yourself next time." Maria snaps at me as she gets up. She runs to Travis and patheticly attempts to seek pity from him. "Travis baby look at what she did to my arm it is gonna be bruised." Travis replies, "Don't worry babe lets get some ice on it I don't think it will bruise. Lets stop at the pack hospital before I take you home." "Your the best boyfriend thank you babe." Maria says all whiny.

I rolled my eyes and walk towards Elena as usual she is done with matches before me. "Hey you wanna see if Letty is done with her shift so she can join us for movie night?" "Sure let me text her." I replied

I grab my phone out of my bag and start to text our other bestie Letty. 'Hey hey, we are gonna do movie night at my place you in?'

*ding* 'Yes I am in I will grab pizza and wings on the way home just left work.'. 'Make sure one pizza is meat lovers with stuffed crust please.' 'You got it babe see you and E soon.'

"She is down for movie night she is grabbing pizza and wings." I said to Elena. "YES! I love that girl she will make one wolf man happy." Elena says while giggling.

We start to head back to the pack house and I look up and see a humming bird above my head. So beautiful before I could admire it more I realize I am standing alone and Elena is ahead of me. Better hurry so I can shower and enjoy movie night with my girls.
