I WOKE up early because I want to see the sunrise again. I have to walk for a while before I reached the place where I can see the sun without hindrances. I know. Dad was looking for me last night. However, I can't open my eyes and answer his call since I want to be alone.
I let go a loud sigh before I slid my foot down to the floor. Slowly, I stood up and stretched my whole body.
What a wonderful day--or not.
I looked at the surroundings and found out that they are not there. Maybe they went hunting. Well, that's their choice.
I strolled towards our living room, and still, they are not there. Ignoring the fact that my Mom and Dad were not around, I marched toward the door.
To my surprise, a large number of beasts are waiting for me outside and staring at me with a smile on their faces.
What is going on? Why are they here? Are they all waiting for me since last night, or have they just got here?
From the looks of it, I think they have been waiting for me.
"What is going on?" I asked. My eyes widened when the crowd split into two, and My Mom--Araya and my Dad, walked like a King and Queen.
"Mom? Dad?" I called, "What is happening? Why are they here? Did I do something wrong?"
Mom and Dad didn't answer. Instead, they looked at each other and nodded.
What is really going on? I can't find a single hint on what is happening in this place. I want to know.
I looked at the beasts again and saw my friend, Az. She is waving at me with a broad smile on her face. I don't know why but when she raised her hand with a thumbs up. I can feel my heart beats so fast.
I ran towards Az and hugged her arms, "What is happening here?" I whispered while smiling forcibly at the beasts who can't take their gaze off me.
A warm, fluffy fur touched my skin. I looked at Az and saw her hands touched the back of my hand.
"It is hilarious," she said, "You are acting so weirdly. You didn't even bother to tell me about the conversation between you and your Mom. If I didn't ask my Mom, I wouldn't know, eh?"
I looked at her with confusion.
"Hey, stop looking at me like that," she added, "You are the one who is at fault here. Why are you looking at me as if I have done something wrong."
"Yes, "I replied.
"What do you mean by Yes?" She asked and faced me, "I didn't do anything. For your information, my dear beast friend, I didn't say anything about your dreams and all. If you are surprised, so do I. Mom woke me up around 4 am to be here."
"Do you have any idea what is going on? I am clueless right now, and I can't think of any reason, "I replied.
I saw my Mom and Dad walking towards us. I hold her arms tightly, and I know I am hurting her so much.
"Hey, cut it off," she murmured.
I didn't say anything. Instead, I just stared at my parents with worry in my eyes.
"Daugther," my Mom called.
The silence was all over the place. The cold breeze of the morning blew my hair. The only sound that I could hear is the sound of the leaves slamming with each other.
"Mom, What is happening?" I asked.
"Isn't this what you wanted?" She asked and smiled at me, "You want to be free and explore the world, am I right?"
What does she mean by that?
Yes, I have been wanting to explore the outside of this forest for a very long time, but she doesn't want me to leave, right? Why is she doing this? Is this a dream?
Am I hallucinating? I don't understand.
"What you Mother meant is, we are letting you go,"my Father added, "You are already at your legal age. You may go ahead and explore the world as much as you want. You may go out in this forest and enjoy your life."
My heart thump so loudly. I can't think clearly anymore. What is going on.
The feeling of excitement rushed all over my body. My hands went cold and I can feel my face turn into tomato red.
"Do you mean, I can go out now?" I asked.
They looked at each other and smiled at me before they nodded together. A loud scream can be heard from the forest, and that scream was from me. I can't explain how I feel. I am so excited and at the same time so nervous.
"I mean, why?" I asked, "I thought I am not permitted to go out?"
"Who said so?" My Mother asked.
"You," my Father answered and smiled, "Your Mom has been a real pain in the hole for centuries. She doesn't want you to leave cause she know how dangerous the world could be. However, we talked about this. We can't keep you in this place forever. You also need to grow."
"It may be the hardest thing for me to do but I have to let you go but, I have one more thing for you,"she said, "You need to be blessed with all of the beasts in this place for your protection."
"A blessing from the forest?"
I looked at everyone and they smiled at me so comfortably. I can't help myself to bow at them and hugged my parents.
"Thank you so much, Mom and Dad,"I said, "I promise that I will be very careful. I will visit you here."
"We will wait for your return,"they replied and let go.
"Now, let's start, shall we? You will need to pack your things after this,"they said in unison.
I nodded at them as a response before the beasts encircled me and start chanting.
