BloodBorne: 4

So me and Jic continued on our way going into the forest. While walking I still keep on thinking on how I would ask permission to my parents on having to leave the forest and venture on my own. I really want to leave the forest and discover the world. Since I was born, I only ever lived inside the forest and its surroundings. I ventured all around the forest and I have discovered every part of it. All the secrets, the shortcuts, even all the plants in the forest and which are good to eat and dangerous to eat. I have discovered a lot of things in the forest. It is not only a place where I live but also the place where I learn a lot of things, from basic things like walking, running climbing, up unto learning how to hunt for food, to forage for food. It is not that I am not thankful for the forest. I am thankful for the forest and for all the things that Araya and Damino gave to me. That is why I am afraid for asking their permission for me to leave the forest and venture out. I just feel like staying in the forest makes me feel like a tadpole stuck under a well. That my knowledge, skills, and experiences are being limited to what is available and what is my environment and around me. And for me I want to know more, I want to discover more places, to make new friends, to discover myself more. I was so lost in thoughts that Jic noticed it, but she didn’t mind and she just gave me time to think and make my mind clear. But she really is something else. While I was so deep in my thoughts, I didn’t notice that I was about to bump towards a big tree, she knew about this and that she could tell me but she did not tell me and just let me walk and hit my head over the tree. When I hit the tree, I shouted out of pain. “Oww!” I exclaimed. My head hurts so bad that it got me all dizzy and made me fall on the floor. I kept rubbing on my head because my head is still in pain, I looked at her and all I see is her laughing at me, she laughed so hard that she fell on the floor rolling for laughing at me. This made me so mad that my face frowned and was indescribable. But this did not stop her from laughing at me, but instead it made her laugh even more. “Was that funny?” I asked her in a sarcastic tone. “Yes, it is!” She said while she continues on laughing at me. “My head really hurts! Why did you not tell my that I was about to bump on a big tree?” I asked her once more in an angry tone. “Well first of all it is your fault for not being able to notice the big tree in front of you. Like how could you not see it, it even covered us with its shadow long before you bumped into it. Secondly you are so deep in thoughts, I even tried calling you earlier but you don’t seem to notice me calling you, so I did what I could and it is your fault you bumped on that big tree.” Her answer to me while I continued on rubbing my head due to the pain still lingering. “Okay it is my fault then, I am sorry. But after when I bumped myself on the big tree, why did you not help me?” I asked her in an angry tone. “Well... Ummm” She muttered yet she could not give me a proper answer. “Instead of helping me stand up and checking up on me, you went ahead and laugh at me on what happened. And not only that, you continued on laughing and laughing even after a few minutes. Should I have asked for help instead than expect it from you?” I asked her once more. “I am sorry. I know it is wrong to laugh at you after that happened but I just could not help myself. It was really funny and I was anticipating for it to happen. Please forgive me Amanalia.” Her response asking for my forgiveness, while at the same time she reached her hand out to help me. “You are lucky that you are my best friend, if you were not, I would have not accepted you asking for forgiveness.” I said to her while at the same time I reached for hand and stood up. She then gave me a hug, and I hugged her back. “Come on, we still need to find fruits that are good to eat but not too ripe that they smell and taste like fermented wine.” She said to me. “Well I guess I have to rely on you about that? Make that powerful nose put to good use and check the fruits which are good for eating. The fresher the fruit the better.” I said to her. She then looked at me with a frowned face. “What do you think of me? A fruit checker? That I just go around and use my nose to sniff up the fruits that are good for eating?” She asked me in a annoyed tone. “Well technically? Yes!” I answered her with a big smile to my face. Jic sighed in disbelief to what I just said to her. “Well if not for sniffing fresh fruits, ripe fruits. and overripe fruits, what else are the uses for your great and powerful nose?” I asked her with a bit of teasing to her. “Really? That is your reasoning? Is that all I am to you?” She asked with a frown on her face. “No, you are my best friend that I care and love so much, and also you have the most powerful nose out of all the other creatures here in the forest. You can smell fruits even from the tallest trees, up to hidden places in the whole forest.” My answer to her. “Well fair enough, you do have a point. But you do know that collecting fruits is not just about finding fresh fruits, right?” Jic asked me. “That is where I come in, I will be the one to collect those fruits carefully so that they would not get bruises, and ruin the fruits. And I will also be the one carrying them. Just focus on finding those fresh fruits.” I said to her while holding a thumbs up in front of her face. “Fine.” She answered. After that she then started to sniff for the freshest fruits in the forest, she mainly focused on fruits that are within 100 feet from around her so that it would not be hard to communicate to each other and we would not get so far from our homes. After a few hours the bag that I was carrying is almost full of fruits. I am sure that these fruits would be delicious. Even I do not need a powerful nose to know that. “How many fruits do we still need to find?” Jic asked me. “Well as I see here, we only need just about a few more fruits, less than 12 fruits I think, but it would vary differently on what fruit and how big that fruit is.” I answered to her. “Really? I thought we were just half way from full.” She said to me. “Just focus on finding the fruits and let me think about how to carry them and store them okay?” I said to her. “Fine.” After that she sniffed and pointed towards a tall tree and she said that it was a fresh fruit, the freshest she has smelled from today. So, I went and carried her on my back and climb up the really tall tree. As we climb higher and higher, Jic keeps on telling me that she was able to smell the freshness more. Then finally we arrived at where the fresh fruits were and they were a lot, we took some and put it in the bag. Then Jic then told me something. “We should just eat the rest we can’t carry, and we can eat here. If we left it alone here it will just be wasted and rot away. So, I think it is better to just eat it here.” She said to me. Jic does have a point so, I agreed and take the other fruits and share it with her. We sat down on a strong branch, we looked at enjoyed the view we have. Seeing the whole forest, other creatures, and everything around us. It was so beautiful, a one of a kind beauty. “Amanalia, you would really want to leave this beautiful place?” Jic asked me. “I know it is beautiful Jic. But I want to discover more new places, to have an adventure and be able to tell amazing and daring stories. I want to experience the world Jic not just this forest. I want to see other beautiful places too like this.” I explained to her. “Well I will support you on your decision Amanalia.” She replied to me. “That really is very important for me.” I replied to her with a smile on my face knowing that my best friend supports my decision. “Now the real question, do you have any plan on how to ask permission to your parents on you leaving your home, them, and the forest, and to venture out on your own?” Jic asked me. “Well a plan? I don’t really have one. I just know that I have to try to ask for permission to them, I really want this. You know how long I have wanted this Jic.” I replied to her. “I do know how long you have wanted and waited for this. You have always shared this to me. And every time you share it, you are smiling. But have you thought on what to do just in case that they won’t give you their permission to leave the forest?” Jic asked me again. “Well I have thought of something. But I hope I do not have to do this.” I replied to her. “What is it that you have planned in case you were not given permission to leave?” She aske me. “I thought about it long and hard. I have decided that even if they would not give my permission to leave, I will still leave otherwise. Although this time when I leave, I may not be welcomed to go back in the forest, that is why I was hoping I do not have to do this since I want to see Araya and Damino again, and you to Jic.” I said to her.
