Hello Earth We’re Back

Emerald POV

The last memory in my mind is getting a hug from Selene herself. I awake in a meadow covered with wildflowers. I am completely bare. My scars and bruises I died with are gone. My hair seems shinier, my skin is glowing. I rub my eyes to ensure I am indeed awake. ‘Welcome back love.’

I pause. I know that voice! I wasn’t dreaming! A smile creeps along my renewed face.

‘Nikkia! I didn’t dream you up!’

A chuckle sounds in my head. ‘I may feel like a dream, but girl I am 100 percent real.’

Sitting up and becoming more alert has me realizing my vision is so much clearer! I have always had excellent vision, but this, this is insanely impressive. I can watch bees pollinating flowers over 200 yards away. Sensing my awe Nikkia offers up, ‘We aren't like other werewolves you know. We are special Emerald. Our senses are heightened, even compared to the most gifted alphas. We see better, we’re faster, stronger, can hear better and so much more!’

My shock quickly turning to determination. A devilish smirk dancing across my features. ‘We shouldn’t waste these talents then. We have people to help and scores to settle.’

‘Before we go, I think you should experience your first shift. It won’t be painful like it is for others, but it will be a new feeling for you. I want you comfortable before we start stirring the pot. I ‘d hate for our first time to be during battle, and it dazes you.’

Without hesitation I silently agree. I’ve only just met my wolf, but I trust her completely. ‘How do we do this?’

‘Sit back and relax. Let me take control.’

Rolling to my hands and knees I nod, releasing control. My bones start snapping and shifting. I have paws. Nikkia’s pearlescent white fur starts sprouting all over. My cute little button nose becoming a large snout. My eyes trade in their copper color for that of a rich sapphire blue. In the blink of my eyes, I am a wolf.

‘Where to now?’ I ponder.

‘I hear a party is going to take place tonight.’

‘We just got to Earth. How would you hear of such things?’

‘I can communicate with another special wolf. His name is Cassius. You met his human, Cooper. He’s the man who tried to save you the day you died.’My heart flutters at his name, my cheeks flush ever so slightly.

‘I remember him. He’s hard to forget.’

My mind flashes back to him that night. Those mesmerizing grey eyes, his beautiful messy brown hair, that drool worthy body. The way his touch felt when he steadied me. Nikkia lets a giggle slip. ‘We feel that way about him for a reason. He is our second chance mate.’ I frown, why wasn’t he our first chance? Hearing my thoughts, she lets out a sad chuckle. ‘Selene thought he could be saved. She thought having a mate like you would change his evil ways. You were always meant to be special, but he was also intended to be.’

I listen quietly, letting the information sink in. She continues on, ‘Selene knew you wold have questions. She also knew you would be too nervous to ask her yourself. She kept me in the loop.’

We slowly start our journey. ‘We have time to kill before the party, and I have so much to tell you.’

‘I’m still not used to having someone in my head.’ We laugh in unison. Once our laughter has stopped, she continues on, ‘Years ago, gods and goddesses lived together in harmony. They created Earth together and lived here with us all. Where they came from isn’t quite clear. Sure they are the children of the Titans, but where the Titans came from is still a mystery. The Titans were angry with their children for creating such a beautiful place. They were incapable. They grew jealous of the love their children received from their creations.

War broke out. Many on both sides were killed, but the remaining gods and goddesses were able to imprison the surviving Titans. To ensure Earth’s safety, the gods split domains, making it forbidden to return to Earth.’

My brows furrow a moment. ‘Split domains?’

‘Zeus is the master of the sky, king of mount Olympus, his brother Poseidon is king of the seas, Hades was made lord of the underworld.’

Remembering back to my conversation with Selene, it makes sense. She said she couldn’t interfere. At the time I found it odd considering she is a powerful being. Nearing the human town of Clarksville, we stay hidden in the forest.

‘Did my mom and Robyn make it?’
