Rosemary’s POV
Emerald walks out to that monster with no fear. My wolf and I beam with pride, even if it’s only for a moment. What kind of mother leaves her child? After all the abuse she has endured, why leave her alone again?! ‘The man’s wolf said we should go.’
I pause hearing Zara speak up. The silver chains have made her so weak. ‘Zara! You’re okay! What do you mean his wolf said we should go? He isn’t from our pack, is he?’
‘No time to waste Rosie. We must go now! I can explain later!’
Robyn’s eyes are unfocused, she too is talking to her wolf. A gentle nudge from me has her focusing again. Without a word, we sneak off into the moon light.
After traveling all night, we finally reach Clarksville. I follow Robyn to a seaside hotel. Looking like a set straight from a made for TV movie, it is as cute as a button. The exterior is a baby blue with bright white trim. It includes a front porch with a swing on the left and two white rocking chairs to the right of the front door. The lawn is decorated with colorful flowers and bushes. I follow Robyn up the brick path to the navy blue front door.
The interior does not disappoint. Blonde wood floors, bright white wainscoting lining the walls. The lobby is a light blue/grey color. Figurine sail boats tastefully spread out, along with some professional photos on the wall. The woman at the front desk doesn’t look a day over 20. Her white blonde hair done up in the perfect bun, her make-up light and natural, complimenting her delicate features. She’s even dressed to match the vibe of the place. A navy striped boat neck t-shirt, white jeans and light grey Sperry boat shoes.
“Luna.” She bows her head in respect for Robyn.
“Hello Thea.” Robyn smiles warmly, “We need a room.”
Without hesitation, she goes into the office, returning with two room keys. The gold cards shining brightly in her delicate hands.
“Before you can argue Luna, I insist you two take the suite. You are both ranking members of your pack and will be high profile. The suite is the best place to hide you.”
“Thank you.”
“I’ll have burner phones sent up right away.”
Hearing those words brought relief. I need to let Emerald know where exactly I’m staying. I need to hear her voice. I wonder how severe her wounds are. I remembered to collect all the strongest healing herbs I could find. I hope I have gathered enough. A light touch to my shoulder has me coming out of my thoughts. Giving Robyn a sheepish grin, she understands where my thoughts are.
We gather our backpacks and my bag of herbs, heading for the elevator. We both are in desperate need of a shower and some sleep. Fortunately, our wolves were able to find some rabbits to keep us fed. The elevator ride is short, bringing us to the 24th floor. The doors open revealing a hallway, decorated similarly to the lobby. A short walk has us at the only door on the floor.
The white wooden door swings open easily. My breath is caught in my throat. This room is magnificent! Floor to ceiling windows in the main living area, providing a spectacular view of the coast. A plush velvet sectional sofa sits in front of a marble fireplace. Running my hand along the royal blue fabric, I continue to explore the room.
The bedroom boasts a ridiculously large bed at the center, two floor to ceiling windows on either side. The master bath has a walk-in shower and a soaker tub. The slate tile giving an earthy luxury feel. The black quartz vanity having two sinks is something I have always wanted. My husband never bothered upgrading our bathroom.
Thinking about him sends a shiver down my spine. I’m sure he is having a fit. I wonder what story our wonderful husbands have concocted.
