  ~Avery~   I was walking around the packhouse, looking for Amber when I spotted her outside on the patio, sitting on the sun deck.   ”Hey there,” I sat down beside her and watched as she twirled what looked like a knife in her hands.   My eyes were stuck on the handle, a beautifully hand-carved piece of what I believed was oak. The circular lines along the shaft looked almost like veins as they parted and came together in different places.   ”What’s that?”   She handed it to me, her finger gracing the faintest sign of an imprinted heart on the wooden handle.   ”It was my dad's, it was his favorite knife, he always had it on him. One day for his birthday I had taken it and burnt in a heart, telling him that how ’now I would be with him everywhere too.” I looked up at Amber as she exp
