The air in the room thickened as Killian watched, his glass forgotten on the table. He was a man who prided himself on being the one in control, but as Raya pushed the table aside and claimed the center of the room, he realized he was entirely at her mercy. "Settle down, big boy," she purred, her voice a low contrast to the smoky jazz filling the room. "Let’s have a drink first. I want to do something for you."
