CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE Charlotte was good at many things, but navigation was not one of them. Thank goodness she’d allowed extra time to reach the airport because she needed it. Leaving home in the dark was fine and she had planned her route the previous night, but once physically on the road, she second-guessed herself. There were multiple options to get to Tullamarine Airport from Kingfisher Falls. Once she got onto the Calder Freeway it was a matter of following the road to one of the turn-offs. But which one? The first would lead through the town of Sunbury and along back roads, reputed to be frequented by kangaroos around dawn. The next road was even worse with long curves and a narrow, one-way bridge at the bottom of a steep hill. Or should she go all the way down to the next freeway
