CHAPTER TWENTY-FOUR
Charlotte arrived at the police station at the same time Trev parked out the front. She’d walked down in brilliant sunshine, puddles and cool air all that was left of the massive storm of the night.
“You look exhausted, Charlie.” Trev met her on the pavement. “Did you sleep at all?”
“A little. But all I could see was his face.”
Trev made a humph sound as he pulled keys from a pocket. “We’ll talk inside.”
As he unlocked the front door and turned off the alarm, Charlotte worried about the nature of the ‘talk’. Her actions last night were dangerous. Why she did things like this without proper forward thought and care was something she didn’t understand. It wasn’t the first time she’d put herself in danger.
