CHAPTER THIRTY The moment Charlotte stepped through Rosie’s front door, the undeniable aroma of macaroni cheese pasta bake filled her senses. Hunger rose with the tangy smell of mustard and garlic. She’d gone home for a shower and to change. Trev offered to wait and walk up with her but she told him he needed to make himself presentable for dinner with his mother. He’d laughed, and left her at the end of the driveway with a kiss on the tip of her nose. Her return to the apartment was one in a much happier frame of mind than only an hour or so earlier.
