The next second, Celia was pushed to the ground. Her forehead hit the table corner, and she almost fainted in pain.
She was startled by the anger in the man's eyes. Afraid he would harm her in a fury, she decided to take the chance to explain.
Looking up at Ashton and the blood on his shoulder, Celia paled. Her lips parted. She wanted to tell him she didn't mean to hurt him but just wanted to slap him.
However, when she met his icy, furious gaze, Celia huddled in fear and dared not utter any beep.
He was the only one who could almost scare her to death with a gaze. Over the years, the Walshs kept abusing her, but she always could have fought back bravely.
However, Celia lost her courage when facing this man.
"You're injured, Young Master." Luis instantly rushed over to check Ashton's wound and called the family doctor.
His shout also attracted the bodyguards' attention. Seeing Ashton was wounded, they instantly became on guard. They surrounded him to prevent him from being injured again.
Celia was shocked by so many bodyguards, who stared daggers at the knife with the bloodstain in her hand.
In fear, she tossed it away instantly. She explained, "I-I forgot I was holding a knife. I didn't mean to hurt you..."
Her explanation sounded pretty lame, though.
No one believed her.
Think I'll buy it? How ridiculous!
"I don't want to see her anymore," Ashton said grimly.
He had never expected to be injured by a woman.
If others knew this, they would misunderstand that he had been injured because he wanted to harass her.
Ashton could get whatever woman he wanted. He didn't think he needed to force a reluctant one.
"Take her away." Luis instantly told the bodyguards to take Celia out of the living room as he could tell Ashton had lost his temper.
Before Celia stood up, two bodyguards lifted her
"I can walk by myself..."
She was ignored utterly. Soon, she was taken out and tossed into a small room.
Before she got on her feet, the bodyguards had already closed the door and locked it from the outside.
Upon hearing the locking sound, Celia collapsed to the freezing floor.
Once the bodyguards left, some maids gathered and mocked Celia.
"This b***h must be a w***e. She must have annoyed Young Master by hitting on him. She deserves to be sent here!"
"She must haven't known the consequences of annoying Young Master. Since she likes luring men, I guess Young Master will send her to the bodyguards. I can't wait to watch the show."
"How can she sleep with so many men?"
"She's professional. I guess she can handle more men..."
"Gee! She's so filthy."
Upon hearing their ironic, harsh words, Celia paled.
Only then did she start to worry.
Will that hateful man send all his bodyguards to punish me for real?
Celia had been locked up in the room for three days. The longer she was locked, the more fearful she felt.
Is that man all right? Have I killed him?
Celia couldn't do anything in the room, so she made wild guesses.
In the past three days, she had thought about many things. Initially, she didn't fear death, but one day later, she missed her orphanage and Mother Donna. Other children in the orphanage were still young. If she passed away, what would they do?
Therefore, the last thing she wanted was to end her life. She wanted to live on.
Since she was locked up, she had been provided with three meals a day. She tried to talk to the man who sent the meals, hoping he could pass her message to that hateful man. She wanted to talk to him face-to-face. However, the man delivering the meals ignored her and left after sending her the food.
Celia felt highly uneasy. Moreover, whenever the maids passed by the room, she was frightened by their discussions.
"Why hasn't Young Master done anything to that woman yet?"
"He's recovering. I guess he's taking the chance to think about how to torture her. Ain't it more exciting?"
"It's been three days. Will Young Master forget her?"
Celia became spirited when hearing the hateful man might have forgotten her. However, the other maid's words disappointed her.
"It's only been three days. Remember? Last time, a maid with a lovely face boldly lay on Young Master's bed to hit on him? He kicked her out, locked her up, and ignored her for half a month. When we all thought she would be set free soon, she ended up... You know it, right?"
"Right. I've almost forgotten about that. That maid ended up miserably indeed," the other maid echoed in fear, heaving a sigh. Celia's heart tightened.
She hurriedly approached the door, clinging her ear to it so she could eavesdrop on them more clearly.
"Exactly! TSK. TSK. I wonder if the woman in this room would be luckier than that maid or more tragic than her."
"More tragic, I guess. Young Master has been upset for three days..."
They walked farther and farther, so Celia couldn't hear the rest of their words.
She wanted to ask them about the maid's ending in detail.
Since she had only heard half of that incident, Celia felt more frightened and uneasy, which kept torturing Celia's tense nerves.
Although she had meals after being locked up, Celia didn't have any appetite at all. She even had trouble sleeping.
The three days were like a year to her.
If that hateful man tried to torture her this way, Celia had to admit that he had succeeded.
When it was dust that day, the door was opened. This time, Luis delivered dinner to her.
Seeing him enter, Celia instantly stood up. She was disappointed that no one else was with the bodyguards at the door.
She had thought the hateful man would come here. In that case, she could explain to him.
Luis was a spirited mid-aged in his fifties, looking friendly. He studied her expression changes.
"Ms. Walsh, nice to see you again. I'm the butler of this house," Luis introduced himself with a smile. Then he asked, "Young Master sent me to ask if you had made up your mind."
