My heart initially skipped a beat as soon as those words rolled off his tongue.
I had to come up with an excuse and I meant it as fast as possible. He was going to figure out that I was lying through my teeth and wasn't going to let me go except I had proven my existence.
I also did not think that anything was going to be wrong with doing any of that besides the fact that I have to be as conscious not to divert such a sensitive secret.

It was a huge way of putting back what I imagined was the right thing and still hoping that I will be able to out smart him one way or the other for him not to figure out what I was up to.
