Chapter 2

270 Words
Lucky nineteen. We did it again! And now I have the usual suspects to thank for this undertaking. First and foremost, of course, is my wife Kimberly, who tolerates my stares and heavy breathing over her shoulder when she’s trying to beta/proofread for me. Thanks babe! Then we have, in no particular order: Kathrine Pendleton, Angela Roquet, and Monica La Porta. They’re always my first line of defense for all grammar and story issues. I appreciate your kind words and keen eyes as always. Professional assistance came from editor extraordinaire Toby Selwyn, who will be very sad if this remains a standalone novel. So I will assure him (and the readers) that should another demon come calling with promises of adventure, I promise to make the pact. Just for you guys. This gorgeous cover was done by the amazing Christian Bentulan. You’ve really outdone yourself this time, Christian! Thank you so much for always giving me exactly what I ask for. As for all the inner bits and the art of making a book look like a book, we have Alexandra Amor, my sweetheart assistant, to thank. You’re always a big help, A! Then we have my amazing street team. You guys are always spotting those last minute typos and leaving the first reviews—two critical tasks required for each book’s launch and subsequent success. You continue to show your love, support, and infectious enthusiasm for all that I do. To top it off, you tell your family and friends about my work and send loads of encouraging emails. All of this means more than you know. Thank you!
