The moment the door closes, I let go.
The dragon surges forward. Takes control.
My body convulses. Bones crack and reform. My jaw elongates. Fangs punch through gums.
The transformation rips through me like fire.
But she's safe. She's away from me.
That's all that matters.
The beast roars. Furious. Cheated.
It wanted her. Wanted to claim her. Complete the bond.
'Never,' I snarl back. 'You'll kill her.'
