Selene POV
The guards don't move.
Their weapons stay half-raised. Eyes darting between me, Saira, and their Alpha.
"Garrett." Werren's voice shakes with fury. "Don't just stand there! Stop her!"
Alpha Garrett raises one hand. His expression is cold. Calculated.
"Let her pass."
"What?" Werren spins on him. "You can't be serious! This woman is mine. She belongs to Ice Moon. I won't—"
"She belongs to the Alpha King." Garrett's voice cuts like ice. "I saw it at the banquet. Everyone saw it. Rex claimed her in front of the entire kingdom."
"He threw her out!"
"Did he?" Garrett's eyes narrow. "Or did she run? Either way, if we detain her now and the Alpha King comes looking—" He pauses. Lets the threat hang. "I won't risk Ice Moon for your wounded pride, Werren."
