Jason left his dad while he was still talking about business with Melissa's father as he went out looking for Melissa. He wanted to have a private moment with her and properly ask her out on a date.
He looked around the corners of the hall where most persons stood in groups chatting aloud and laughing with their drinks at hand.
"Hello excuse me," he signals a lady carrying a tray, with the way she was dressed one would tell that she is a waitress.
"Have you by any chance seen Melissa?" Jason asked her.
The lady shook her head and said no as she excused herself and left.
Jason stood there for something and grabbed a glass of drink from another waitress who just passed him.
He sipped his drink and continued his long search for Melissa in the hall.
