They chatted for over three hours, before the man got up and told Joe he would be leaving, since he was going into town again that afternoon, Joe asked him to stay a little longer with him because he was enjoying their chat together, but the man insisted as he looked at his wrist watch and told Joe he had to run along, Joe said okay and got up as well, paid the young lady who served the drinks and walked out of the motel with the man.
The man got to his car, entered and waved goodbye to Joe as he pulled into the road.
Joe watched until the car had disappeared before going back to his room in the motel.
He had a lot to drink at the bar, and it was beginning to take effect on him. His head was feeling so heavy as his eyes became dizzy.
Joe managed to lay on the bed and slept off.
