With Kurt off to pick up Mike from the airport, Maggie showered and went downstairs to hunt for coffee. A nearly full pot was on the counter. Jill said, “Cups are in the cupboard above.” “Thank you.” Maggie poured herself a cup and sat at the kitchen table. “There’s bread for toast, cereal in cupboard. I’d avoid the sugar frosted sugar bombs that Aaron likes. And I have eggs in the fridge,” Jill said. She was folding clothes at the opposite end of the table. “Coffee’s fine for right now.” “Kurt said you’d been really sick, in the hospital sick. Is it better now?” “Yeah, getting there. I had pneumonia. They put me on two weeks’ worth of the uber kick-butt antibiotics, and I have an inhaler. There’s not a lot of the coughing left but it’s really frustrating to get exhausted so easily.
