“Have you seen the power cord to my laptop?” Kurt came in the den and peeked behind the end table. “Um, I think maybe it’s in the kitchen,” Mike said. He was surfing one of the social media sites on his own laptop. “Nope, looked there.” “Try again. I think you laid mail on top of it.” “Oh.” Kurt left the room and returned shortly with the cord. He plugged his computer into a power strip along the wall, set it on the floor to charge, and flopped down on the sofa next to Mike. “Tired?” “A little.” “How’s your head?” Mike asked. “Fine.” “Because you’d tell me if it wasn’t,” Mike pressed. He kicked Kurt’s calf. “I’m fine. Really.” Kurt lifted Mike’s computer off his lap and set it on the floor. “Come ‘ere.” He took hold of Mike’s wrists. “Stop stressing.” He pushed Mike flat on the s
