A flood.
My breathing changed.

My mouth tightened. “This is noise,” I muttered while swiping through them quickly, dismissing each alert with irritated flicks of my thumb.
I pressed one contact and held the phone to my ear while pacing the hallway. “Explain,” I demanded while pressing my free hand against the wall and leaning into it slightly.
