Salix   Holly stood in the middle of Salix’s hotel room and was frozen. Her eyes were glazed and her mouth hung open. She looked horrible. Her blond hair was snarled behind her head, she had dirt and blood smeared on her face and arms and her clothing was filthy. His heart sank when he looked at her, so pitiful. He walked up behind he and wrapped her in a hug, resting his chin on top of her head. Her skin was ice cold against his. She stiffened at first but then relaxed and leaned back into him. The bed was just behind them. He took a step back and she followed. Another step and he was against the bed.
