She left the hotel and walked aimlessly down the sidewalk in front of all the hotels. Only now did she realize that she was still wearing her pajamas. Whatever. She picked a direction and walked, needing to get as far away from Salix as possible. Dark thoughts swirled in her mind, questioning every moment she’d spent with him. Every minute was a lie, he needed her to repay a debt and nothing more.
The gentle sound of waves crashing against the sand did little to relax her anxious mind.
